That's certainly possible, it's not like it's beneath some of his comrades, or maybe I'm just overly suspicious. I was listening to some people a lot smarter than me and there was some thought that maybe it's nothing more than an arrogant, risk taker thinking he could get over on Special Counsel Mueller. Meh. My over active imagination thinks it's something more, something big, something so provocative he will basically give his life to protect. He's going to the slammer for a long time, maybe the rest of his life.

Mannafort is what he always was. He lies because that is how he communicate with humans.
Trump has no loyalty or interest in the man and visa versa.
Towards the latter part of the Presidential race he looked at what Lewindowki had done and decided Lewindowski could bring no more to the table. He figured irrespective of who Mannafort was, that he could use his lobbying skills and campaigning experience to help tip Trump over the top.
Did not change how he got that experience or those skills nor what he did before Trump Presidential run nor did it change what kind of creature he was.
He was not a confidante, friend, ally or more than a short term specialist contracted for a specific role and discard soon after. The job title does not infer closeness nor influence nor access to Trump's inner workings.

To be a feminist is simply to believe that everybody should be treated equally, regardless of sex. It means you think that there should be equality of the sexes economically, socially, politically and personally. When you put it like that, it’s surely difficult for anybody to deny being a feminist. But for such a simple concept, it is often dramatically misunderstood.

I will say this yet again; all the media lies are just distractions. The meda bias prevalent today is rooted in their agenda, and make no mistake, every media otlet has an agenda. There are three things happening that should concern us.
First the Trump tariffs, while successful in the very short term are now doing damage to the economy. Trump believes in tariffs, and he could not be more wrong. History teaches the Smoot Hawley Tariff Act of 1930 was one of the reasons unemployment increased and helped to prolong the depression. The parallels to todays situation are eerily similar, and a huge factor in why the Pubs lost the House. Look at the exit polls, the Pubs did the worst where the tariffs hit the hardest. The fact remains China is the biggest threat to the USA, not Russia. Why isn't the media all over this?
Secondly, the rising conflict between Russia and Ukraine are very disturbing. Again the similarities between this situation and the rise of Hitler's power in post WW1 Europe are again eerily similar. I have warned to prepare for war; read "The Fourth Political Theory" by Alexander Dugin. It explains Putin's goals. What the hell is the Cheeto in chief going to do if a shooting war breaks out, and why isn't the media all over this?
Third, the situation in South Africa is worsening. If conflict breaks out there, the world economy will take a huge hit, and could be the spark that ignites Europe. Why isn't the media on this story either?
What will Trump do? Who knows, but I have real concerns he can't handle the coming crisis. His core beliefs are not rooted in conservative principles. In a time of crises it is core principles the guide our actions. Ask any one named "Righteous Among The Nations"; at great personal risk they refused to go over the cliff with the rest of the world when Hitler was murdering Jews.
Ask yourself why is this happening now? Is there a movement to reshape the world? I believe there is and it is out lined n the book "The Coming Insurrection" and "The Plan" penned by the Muslim Brotherhood. If I am right, what will that world look like? Are you prepared to stand on your principles and risk everything if you disagree with the out come? I am.
Once again, a word to the wise: educate yourself and prepare.
