They're not the same at all Mags. Antifa and the Proud Boys are very different animals in structure and philosophy. Opposite, actually.
Antifa does not have a designated leader, a media provocateur. And, to the best of my knowledge, they don't brand themselves and tie their identities to the gang/club/mob (whatever you want to call it).
However, Antifa members do engage in violence. That's the point of commonality between Antifa and the Proud Boys; the point which results in them violently facing off against each other.
Anyway, I've already stated clearly many times that I don't support or defend the use of violence by Antifa. That goes equally for the Proud Boys (and any other group which proactively engages in violence and positions it as "self defense of their principles").
