NFL 2017
Back in the 80s we only had one TV and I was so excited that they were finally airing Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. Well it happened to be on a Monday night and my dad shut it down because his stupid friend Dale was coming over to watch the Steeler's game. I've hated football ever since and I really hate the Steelers.

Why would I want to wear a football jersey with some asshole football players name on it? I don't like watching football and i'm not obsessed with the teams like you losers are.

I'm not obsessed. But my Dad, brother and our friends are into football so I usually just support their team or just pick the other team when my friends feel like making a bet. (Won $40 on the Superbowl that way!) Main reason I'm going to the Boston College vs Syracuse game Thanksgiving weekend is to support my Dad's alma mater and for the male bonding/social interaction.

I don't mind watching that at all. Or boxing. I can even manage to sit through the whole thing it if it's a good fight.

I was going to go see an MMA fight live but my friends balked at the $65 for a seat. But they'll pay almost $60 for a 4 hour Beerfest.

Mondays are always so much better after a win...

...and tonight, I'm a Chiefs fan. Go KC!

The most snake-bitten franchise in the history of the NFL doesn't skip a beat.

Lets review just the past 20 months:

1. Blair Walsh misses a 27 yard FG with 30 seconds remaining and the Vikes lose to Seattle 10-9 in the NFC Wild Card game.

2. The following season during training camp, up and coming QB Teddy Bridgewater suffers a non-contact injury that absolutely decimates his knee. He has yet to return.

3. Week 1 of the 2017 Season, Sam Bradford, after taking abuse behind a film-flam offensive line for the entire 2016 season, apparently suffers a non-contact injury on his left knee causing swelling and discomfort. He has missed the last 3 weeks.

4. Dalvin Cook, the Vikes top pick in the 2017 draft, and the NFL's second leading rusher through the season's first 3 weeks, suffers a non-contact season ending torn ACL.

It has become mind-numbing to try and cheer for this team since 1972, my first recollection of watching a game.

Funny thing, the first game I remember from that season, was the Vikes pissing away a victory against the Miami Dolphins at old Met Stadium.

The Dolphins would continue on and go 17-0 that season, the only perfect season in the history of the NFL.

I'm an Eagles fan, I can give you a run for your money in that department. Awink

I'm familiar with all the emotions you're going through. Been there. I know how badly it sucks and I'm sorry for you. You're a great sports fan, MS, you deserve more.

That chiefs vs redskins game was closer than I thought it'd be.

Not sure if you wager on football or not, but the ending in that game drove bettors to either seek a counseling session with their shrinks or sent them into a state of euphoria.

KC was favored by 7.

So, with 8 seconds left and the Chiefs lining up for a go-ahead FG, anyone who bet on the Skins at +7 was all but guaranteed a win.

Losing by 3 is still within the line of 7 (for the inexperienced among us). When KC kicks off, Washington will throw up a Hail Mary and burn the final 4 seconds.

There's really no way they'd lose by more than 7 right?

I mean, you'd have to have something crazy like a fumble or INT returned for a TD, but that wouldn't happen because if a KC player had the ball, they'd just fall to the ground and end the game, not wanting to risk a fumble with a return, right?

Right!!???

So, the unthinkable happens as Wash tries a dazzle dazzle, fumbles, and a Chiefs player scoops it, breaks a couple of tackles, and scores, to give KC a 9 point win, and a cover!

That's probably one of the more improbable covers I've ever heard of, and I've watched A LOT of them.

I would have loved to have been in a sports book to see the reaction of those in there.

Pain to Joy

And

Joy to Pain.

The laugh at the end got me. I laughed too. You're demented. And a sadist. I like it!

Nah, I'm not much of a gambler on sports. But yeah, crazy twisted ending.

I was going to be a little bitchy if my team wasn't in the top 10 going into this weekend. I only agree with the power rankings when they go my way. ThankYouVeryMuch.

I think we get past the Cards at home this weekend. After that, we should start seeing some of our injured players back on the field. Especially looking forward to those guys in the secondary.
