A day off and the ABC's of love
#1
So I had the day off today and I laid on a dock on the lake and I just laid there thinking about things, but also trying not to think about too many things.

Instead of the "What sucks about me" thread I was thinking about the ABC's of gratitude. And so I just started naming things I was grateful for beginning with A, etc.

But then I thought, "I should do one for myself! What am I grateful for about myself?"

I didn't get very far and started laughing loudly while laying on the dock by myself and a few people walking around the park.

Well that was refreshing, sitting on the dock wasting time, one of the great things about being human is the ability to contemplate. I'm not sure if animals do the same without thinking of the next meal. But in my mind I can hope that they in their own way without watching a clock rejoice being alive on this big blue marble. It's what keeps us going in the long run, and nobody can take that away. I believe animals know this but people sometimes forget how simple it can be to just be.

I don't know about the ABC's of love, but I know the big book of ABC's and their word families. Just today I practiced many sounds. The tot sat on the pot and the tan man hit Dan on the head with a pan. The pot is hot, the cat sat on the mat, Nan ran as fast as she can, Nan and Pam made jam....My head is spinning.

When I lived in the mountain it was real easy to just go to work on my days off if I wasn't hiking. It felt nice to finally just be and not have to do anything or rush anywhere.
