GIVE ME MY DAILY BREAD
1 John 4:18-19

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us.

Then why did Christians use fear of death, punishment and murder to non-Christians to deliver a message of Love?

I’m obviously no theologian, so I’m unqualified to answer this, but the Church, IMO, did a whole lot in the name of God that was cruel and unjust.

I feel like my own feelings toward the church have really grown positively just in the 10 years that I’ve spent at my current church.

If you’ve ready any of my comments recently I always acknowledge the negative feelings that people have had build through the years.

Christ The King Weekend is here.

Matthew 25:35-38

Jesus said:
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me. I was naked and you gave me clothing. I was sick and you took care of me. I was in prison and you visited me.”

“Anyone who did any of these things to the members of my family, did it to me. And the King will welcome them into Heaven.”

The Romans did a number on plenty of Christians. In today's world centuries don't matter. It's all about the "now".
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

1 John 5:11

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

I don't know what to say.

That's worrisome.

There’s nothing to say really.

It’s food for thought.

Something to soak in and ask yourself if it applies to you (which, of course, it does).

Merry Christmas!

Jesus met a Samaritan woman at a well on one of his travels.

John 4:13-14

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water (from the well) will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Ezekiel 16:17

“You also took the fine jewelry I gave you, the jewelry made of my gold and silver, and you made for yourself male idols and engaged in prostitution with them.”

Since we are going to talk about Jesus in this thread, I will also post this picture here. (I just posted it elsewhere. I have seen it before, it was drawn in 2014) I think it is a great illustration by Everett Patterson.

What is a Yeezus? I thought it was a joke until I saw these cards. Is Yeezus the Kwanzaa Deity?

Yeezus is Kanye's nickname and also the title of one of his albums.

Kanye fancies himself a designer as well and I once saw him pose his wife in a dirt pile and he called it art. I laugh every time I recall it.

Somebody tried to tell me that the Lord's Prayer is not in the bible, but clearly it is. And we were having the conversation because of the Pope deciding to drop the "Lead us not into temptation" part of the prayer out. But he would be changing the bible, so I don't understand how he can decide to do that.

Matthew 6:9-13King James Version (KJV)

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
