Do you have fucked up kids
#1
My kids are pretty awesome and have never even as much had a referral all through out school, but now at the ages of 20 and 24 they're starting to show alcoholic tendencies. I mean, they can put em away.

Perhaps the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, but I'm 42 and functioning and most likely always will be. They worry me on the other hand.

Maybe it's just their youth. I used to like to drink a lot too and now I don't drink at all. This doesn't pertain to all young people of course but sometimes at that age it's just how they socialize.

When my girl first came to live with me...........she was total emo, didn't want to work, lied all the time. She was always sweet, but it was tough for the first year and a half or so.

Now she works full-time, she's way less dark, and she lies a lot less (well, as far as I know Smiley_emoticons_wink ). I'm proud of her.

She's 22 now and doesn't like alcohol or drugs at all. I don't have to worry about that. But, she is addicted to junk food still and she's also addicted to video games which she too often plays all night long with the same on-line friends she's had for years. I've failed at getting her interested in being more healthy and sleeping at normal hours.

Anyway, she's kinda fucked up, but it could be a whole lot worse and I don't really know anyone who's not fucked up in one way or another. She's pretty fucking great too.

No Thank God, my kids are not fucked up, dented a little maybe but absolutely stellar people and they are raising their kids on the same path. I held my breath for 21 years from when my daughter was born until after my son turned 21 and nobody was a drunk, druggie, in jail or pregnant.
The bar was low but that was the minimum I was hoping for. I got a LOT more, both kids are doctors, way smarter than me and much more complete and healthier people than I could ever hoped for

My son smokes weed, doesn't drink (but that wasn't always the case). My daughter doesn't drink or smoke weed. Never has. My son had his dangerous drug period early. Around 16 or so. He was a handful back then, as his mother was always more than willing to do coke or meth with him. He's grown now, has kids of his own and other than weed I can say he's clean and sober.

I don't know how parents/parent figures don't spend every waking moment of every single day not consumed with worry for the young people. There is so much to worry about!

You have to find comfort in the fact that you've given them the tools they need to get through life and it's up to them on how they use them.

How could a mother do that? I'll let my kids drink beer or wine in front of me because they're adults, but I don't even really like them doing that.

I often wonder the same thing myself Sally. All I can think is that her addition was stronger than her maternal instinct.

I caught my son licking his reed today. I told him its not supposed to look like Niagara falls. he is getting pretty good on the saxophone though no more honk honk honk.
You couldn't get a clue during the clue mating season in a field full of horny clues if you smeared your body with clue musk and did the clue mating dance.

My daughter is going to be a mime when she grows up. She's been practicing climbing up walls and climbing ropes. That's pretty fucked up.
