No, not at all, jerky smartass! It was disgraceful that we didn't have serious energy reform and independence before 9/11, BUT AFTER 911 it was another big level up in demonstrating just how fucking corrupt things are. After 911 it was a direct slap in the face bigger than anything previously, energy wise. In my view, anyway.

I know you've done this before, OP, but would you please translate that to what it costs per gallon here in the US? I don't get the system you folks use.

Down here, it's just hit AUS $1.65 a litre which translates roughly to about US $6.53 gallon. You guys don't have it that bad

The first time I paid for my own fill-up, (cage, not bike) I paid $1.23 a gallon. But yours does sound worse. Thank God for the sleds, eh? 40+ mpg.

I sold my bike too soon! I drive a diesel and it's over $5 a gallon here in the Republik where I live.

Fucking bullshit taxes because our lovely governor thinks diesel should be taxed higher for environmental reasons. NO bio diesel is here. BUT the price I paid for my truck and it's ability to burn clean has no bearing on the price gouging they're shoving down our throats.

It's not wall street making the gas decision, granted the speculators there are driving prices up, but it's our wonderful Congress who thinks it should remain illegal for us to drill for our own oil on our own lands.

Then by that same twisted standard of bullshit, they think it's OK to drill in someone else's back yard for it and turn it around and complain when they squeeze our balls.

How about we just tell the Arabs to fuck themselves and actually demand we do something about it? Most regular citizens I know are just plain sheep. They buy into the bullshit, then they sit and wait for the slaughter and take it because someone told them to.

NO ONE has balls to make a change anymore. NO ONE is willing to make a few sacrifices to get the ball rolling. They want it all, and they want someone to make their wishes happen for them while they sit idly in the fields munching grass.

Get us back on the gold standard and we'll rule the world once again. Whatever Nixon was thinking taking us off it I'll never understand. It's obviously not working.

We will have a few tough years if we do demand this switch but is it not worth a bit of inconvenience? For shits sake! we're totally inconvenienced NOW anyway, why not another couple years?

I'll tell you why not! SHEEP don't like change. SHEEP are lazy. And top it off, we got all the old HIPPIES now running Congress! That's right, hippies. Socialists in disguise as Americans. Ball-less lumps of shit who think that the world needs peace and love and have managed to make America look like assholes to the world.

What happened to American Balls? America used to say fuck you to anyone who told us what to do. We became America because we said FUCK YOU and did it twice when Great Britain thought they'd try again.

We need to get FUCK YOU back into our blood.

There are approximately four and half litres to a gallon so.........I know your maths is better than mine so I'll let you work it out.

The system us folks use is called the metric system, anytimeyou American folks feel like joining us in the 21st century please feel free.

Or do you still prefer to measure things by how many cows heads there are to the gumbo?

You don't know me so well. My math SUCKS. But this I can figure out. Last question; is the $4.26 a gallon you quoted previously American dollars or UK pounds?

And I have no fucking clue why we are the last country on earth to not use the metric system. Makes no fucking sense whatsoever.

Yeah an impassioned rallying cry on a mock internet forum is certainly going to start the wind of change blowing. Talking about battles that happened over 250 years ago as though they were relevant current events?

You are an American hero.
