RE: how does your garden grow?

Wow..There's a huge difference in our growing season. We've had tomatoes & corn for a month now {from the local produce stands}. I don't think our first frost comes until late Oct. - early Nov.

I like soaking corn shuck and all in water for a few hours then putting them on the grill for about 12 hour. they sell 13 for 4.00 around here. a market dozen is 13. Good stuff!

Zucchini .......I love dat chit w/butter and salt & pepper. I am sick of weeding really though. Tomatoes are everywhere compared to last year when I got none. But I have learned to rotate crops and plant winter rye. My Broccoli is slow this year and so are my peppers but they have finally learned to grow after a bit of pinching and fertilizing. I have a big pile of compost that will be going in next year. I have learned over the years, and will probably go to my grave gardening now. But I must say that my old rototiller was a good investment. My advise.....buy an old one with plenty of tork. I learn every year. Smiley_emoticons_smile

I like carving "special" pumpkins and usually just buy them, they take up alot of room, by Jezus. LC has more big room than I do. My garden is small patches around the house.

I didn't think people even eat vegetables anymore. Everytime I go to the grocery store the cashier asks me "whats this?", it's a green onion for Gods sake. I'm surprised he recognized the carrots.

I've tried growing tomatoes, herbs, and a variety of peppers, but I don't have a green thumb. They produce a lot of fruit for a few months and then they just die.
