RIP Officer James Ryan McCandless ~ only 28 :(

Rapid City Police say the suspect involved in Tuesday's officer shooting in Rapid City, 22-year-old Daniel Tiger, has died.
Investigators are now trying to figure out what led to the shooting.
28-year-old officer James Ryan McCandless was killed in the shootout.
27-year-old officer Nick Armstrong is in critical condition at Rapid City Regional Hospital, and 39-year-old officer Tim Doyle is in stable condition.
From the police report, it looked like it was going to be a simple traffic stop for the three officers, but unfortunately it ended worse than anyone ever imagined.
The trio of Officers McCandless, Armstrong, and Doyle were approaching a group of four individuals at the intersection Anamosa and Greenbriar Street.
According to the police call this group of four was waiting for a bus but something felt out of the ordinary.
After a short conversation with the officers, one of the suspects pulled out a gun.
Witnesses say one of the officers was struck four or five times in the chest while the other officers took cover.
The suspect refused to surrender and continued to fire his gun wildly into the neighborhood.
"I heard a pop and a bullet came through the window, ricocheted off a chair and landed on the floor, so we came out and saw the officers down in the street." Said witness Karen Gilson.
A stray bullet also found it's way into a neighboring video store, two employees and several customers were inside but no one was hurt.
One of the officers returned fire and when the shooting stopped all three officers and the gunman had been shot.
The mayor of Rapid City says the focus now turns to the families and healing the community.
We had the opportunity to speak with officer McCandless' father James Senior over the phone.
He didn't want to say much only that, "James just loved being a police officer and loved every opportunity he was given."
Right now both McCandless' father and mother are on their way to Rapid City and unfortunately he leaves behind a fiance and had just purchased a new home.
