I was so hoping he'd pull through, but 35-year-old Phoenix Police Officer David Glasser died today. He was shot in the line of duty on Wednesday.
Officer Glasser and five other officers responded to calls from a homeowner that his son was stealing his guns. When the police officers arrived on the scene, they were unaware that the 19-year-old was armed inside a car in the driveway.
The 19-year-old opened fire on the responding officers, hitting officer Glasser. Police returned fire and killed the assailant, Israel Santos-Banos.
Officer Glasser was married with two kids and was a twelve year veteran of the force. RIP.
