RE: a thread to argue about religion

I hope there is no such thing as reincarnation. I think about it sometimes & it's never a good thing because I imagine coming back in Calcutta.

Do you go to church? Anyone?

What happened to Ordinary Peephole? I see the pic is gone, does that mean that the crazy critter has taken their bat and ball and gone home in a huff?

RE: argue religion here~~

I hate all religions that knock on my door or try to collect money from me. If your religion isn't self-supporting, it is a dumb religion.

That people still tithe seems stupid to me. Either you are trying to buy your way into heaven, or you are paying for a bigger church building and more porn for your pastor/father/preacher/man at the front.

The funniest thing about religion is that people will believe any fucking thing. Amazes me. I remember sitting in chuch when I was very young thinking, "There is no way." I never had many illusions regarding religion.

I am one of the "Role of the Observer", cultists.

It's a quantum mechanics thing.

Hans Christian Anderson and Copenhagen?

Cosmic coincidence or parallel universe?

You be the judge.

RE: argue religion here~~

Although it is not difficult to figure out the motivations behind the stories in each religion, I nevertheless have found it fascinating to read some of the books which pinpoint just what was really going on in history at the times various religious events are alleged to have occurred. It explains a lot.

It is easy to understand why people were so gullible in earlier centuries. They could neither read nor write. But the extent of popularity of religion today in the 21st century is really hard to comprehend.

I'd like to complain about the swampwater they serve and claim is coffee. Is there a coffee section in the church supply store? I swear they all use the same brand.

And what's with non Catholics trying to do the whole communion thing? With grape juice?!
Where is the wine?! The lewd glances from the officiants as they look down your shirt?!

Not that know...or anything... *adjusts halo*

Taoists were the phirst physicists.

I would let Richard Feynman pick my religion. As long as I didn't have to give up pork.

Just be glad the local church lets your AA group use their facilities...

They buy in bulk with the AA groups.

However, there is an Episcopal church in Paradise Valley that has a coffee shop named "The Other Cup".

Premium custom roasts, espresso and cappuccinos. Free.

Mid-Century Modern decor.

Damn good thing, too. I already know my way around, and if I pass out at the Saturday night meeting, I can still make the Sunday service. It's all about convenience.
