Susan Powell. missing mom. JESUS CHRIST JOSH KILLED THE KIDS!
#1
i hope to see her asshole husband in jail very soon.

Stockton, Ut. - On Sunday, human remains were discovered in Tooele County near Stockton, Utah. There is speculation they may belong to missing woman, Susan Powell.
Josh Powell, 34, the only person of interest in his wife’s disappearance, alleges that the December 2009 night his wife vanished he and his two young sons—ages 2 and 4—were on a camping trip in freezing cold temperatures in the remote Tooele County desert area at around midnight. He claims they slept in a minivan and that when they returned home the next day, Susan, 28, was gone. FUCKING LIAR.

KSL

STOCKTON, Tooele County — Authorities late Sunday were trying determine the identity of a body found in the desert near Stockton.

Tooele County Attorney Doug Hogan came across the remains about 5 p.m. while checking spring runoff in the area where his family runs a ranch, said Tooele County Sheriff's Lt. Travis Sharmann.

Sharmann wouldn't say whether the body was male or female or how long it might have been there. "Right now we haven't been able to identify anything," he said.

Deputies secured the area and were expected to return Monday morning.

Searches for missing West Valley woman Susan Powell have been conducted in remote areas of Tooele County. Her husband Josh Powell told police he took his two young boys camping there Dec. 7, 2009, the night his wife disappeared. His story has been the subject of intense public scrutiny. Police called him a person of interest in the case.

Sharmann said he was aware that people might be speculating that the remains found Sunday may belong to Susan Powell. He said that was one of the reasons authorities were withholding any details about the body until Monday afternoon.

MORE THAN JEANS NEEDED TO DETERMINE GENDER! DUH!
KSL
TOOELE — The Utah State Medical Examiner's Office was looking Monday afternoon at human remains found near Stockton.

Initial indications, based on a pair of jeans found near the remains, were that the person was male, said Tooele County Sheriff Frank Park.

The remains were collected over a wide area in a field. They were believed to spread out by water runoff and animals.

The bones were discovered by Tooele County Attorney Doug Hogan about 5 p.m. Sunday while he was checking spring runoff in the area where his family runs a ranch.

No identification was found with the remains.

I hope this Nevada search turns up something related to Susan. Her husband's story and the way he and his father disparaged Susan and her family are very suspicious, in my opinion.

Police launching Nevada search for missing Puyallup woman
Possible new lead in Susan Powell missing persons case

PUYALLUP, Wash. -- For the first time Susan Powell's husband speaks out as investigators have a new lead in her disappearance more than a year and a half ago.

"Frankly I'm overjoyed," said Josh Powell, who said he is looking forward to Friday's search for his wife near Ely, Nevada.

Josh hasn't spoken publicly since his wife Susan disappeared in December 2009. He said the last time he saw her was in the middle of the night at their Utah home as he and their two young boys headed out for a camping trip.

Ever since Susan vanished, police have called Josh a person of interest. Josh and his father believe Susan ran off with another man. Susan is originally from Western Washington.
"It's been a hard two years, it's been lonely," he said Thursday evening, the night before investigators begin looking again for Susan and any evidence of her disappearance.

"I will always love her," Josh said. "There's a lot of people who have been extremely supportive of me of our sons, it doesn't make up for what other people are trying to put us through."

Josh Powell did not want to discuss the protection order he recently filed against his father-in-law in court. In it, Josh claimed Susan's father has harassed him, and believes that Josh has something to do with Susan's disappearance.

HLN is covering today's searches periodically. LE has allowed 12 members of media to accompany the search of mines in Nevada. So hoping there is some evidence found.

Searches in Susan Cox Powell case focus on mine shafts
New info from older search warrant led detectives to Nevada

Published: Friday, Aug. 19, 2011 2:48 p.m. MDT
By Pat Reavy and Emiley Morgan, Deseret News

ELY, Nevada — West Valley police searched six abandoned mine shafts Friday morning before moving on to another area to search additional mine shafts in the case of missing Utah mother Susan Cox Powell.

"I'm anticipating a very long, hot day today and possibly a long hot day tomorrow," West Valley Police Sgt. Mike Powell said, referring to numerous searches that detectives plan to conduct in the remote outskirts of Ely.

Police released few details at a Friday morning news conference about why they were in Nevada, but the sergeant later explained that new information from a search warrant in the Susan Powell case prompted them to head to the Silver state.

"We were able to obtain information from a prior search warrant," Mike Powell said. He would not specify when or where the warrant was served or whether the information was a result from crime lab tests. At one point, he said the warrant was served during "the initial part of the investigation" and said the information received was "fairly recent."

KICK HIS LYING ASS CHUCK! HE KNOWS HIS USELESS SON KILLED YOUR DAUGHTER!

The Salt Lake Tribune

Puyallup, Wash. • The father and father-in-law of Susan Powell met face-to-face in front of reporters and cameras for the first time Saturday, with each accusing the other of telling lies and not helping to find the missing woman.

Her father, Chuck Cox, and father-in-law, Steve Powell, raised their voices but otherwise kept their tempers in check. They stood 3 feet from each other at a busy intersection outside a Fred Meyer store. Members of the Cox family and supporters were waving a banner and signs with Susan Powell’s photo at the spot.

"We were going to get a picture of Chuck Cox," Steve Powell said, turning to reporters. "We believe he’s in violation of a restraining order because Josh shops at this store."

"You own the neighborhood?" Cox asked.

Josh Powell, Susan Powell’s husband, is the only individual who West Valley City police have named as a person of interest in her December 2009 disappearance. Josh Powell has obtained a temporary restraining order against Cox, and a court hearing is set for Tuesday in Tacoma, Wash., to consider whether the order should be permanent.

"We wanted to see if [Cox] was here because we wanted to be able to say something at the hearing Tuesday," Steve Powell said.

Steve Powell and his daughter, Alina Powell, approached Cox at about 11:15 a.m. local time, and asked why the Coxes picked the intersection.

"How is you coming here helping to find Susan?" Cox asked Steve Powell at one point.

"It isn’t helping find Susan. How does you standing here at our neighborhood market helping to find Susan?" Steve Powell responded.

Steve Powell moments later turned to reporters and said: "They are only doing it in the neighborhood we live [in.]"

Steve Powell clarified that he does not object to the Coxes publicizing Susan Powell’s picture but suggested that doing it near his and Josh Powell’s home — about two miles from the store — is meant as harassment.

"I think he’s here because he thinks he has some kind of advantage," Cox said, "and he’s going to prove I’m doing something illegal or picking on him when I just want to find my daughter."

Steve Powell went onto renew his claims that FBI agents told him they do not believe Josh Powell had anything to do with his wife’s disappearance, and said that Josh Powell will not speak with West Valley City police because they earlier misled him. Susan Powell was emotionally unstable, Steve Powell said again, and likely left of her own accord.

Cox said those assertions were baseless. "You’re not believable," Cox said.

"Right, right I’m not. You are, though," Steve Powell responded sarcastically.

Cox said SusanPowell.org, which Steve and Josh Powell operate, is "full of lies."

I don't know how the Cox's remain as respectable as they do. I admire them. Must take a lot of restraint not to wipe the smirks off the lying mugs of Josh Powell and his enabling father. I hope these searches turn up some piece of evidence that will help bring justice for Susan and her family.

SALT LAKE TRIBUNE
Ely, Nevada • West Valley City police on Saturday resumed searching abandoned mine shafts for Susan Cox Powell, a Utah mother who has been missing for almost two years.

West Valley Police Sgt. Mike Powell called Friday’s operations "successful," saying searchers cleared more than a dozen mines and documented each with a photo. No evidence was removed from any of the mines.

Mike Powell said searchers will resume their work Saturday morning.

Police have said little about what led them this week to Ely, which is about 250 miles west of Salt Lake City, other than to say it relates to information gleaned from a search warrant executed when Susan Powell disappeared in December 2009.

"They’re here to follow up on information that was a direct result of the search warrant. Since Josh [Susan’s husband] didn’t offer them information, it’s taken them this long" to test evidence and focus on Ely, Mike Powell said.

He again invited Josh Powell to speak with police about the case.

West Valley City police in 2009 executed search warrants on the Powell home and seized and searched the blue minivan Josh Powell drove the night his wife disappeared. They also executed a search warrant to take blood and other biological samples from Josh Powell. Police obtained a court order sealing those warrants — and any others they may have served.

After eight hours of using ropes and lamps to rappel down into mine shafts, four West Valley City detectives stopped at about 6 p.m. Friday with plans to resume 9 a.m. Saturday. The detectives, who used ATVs to move from shaft to shaft in an area west of town near Squaw Peak and accessible only by an old gravel road, were fatigued from the heat and their efforts.

"We don’t want to have any accidents at this point," Mike Powell said. "Safety is an issue."

Mike Powell had invited reporters to come along on the search at a Friday morning news conference. When asked why media were invited along, Mike Powell said coverage would make the case "fresh in the minds of individuals again" and jog the memories of Ely residents. He added police wanted people in Utah to know West Valley City officers were in Ely, rather than having to explain it after the fact.

"The people in the community are the eyes and ears of law enforcement," he added. "We very much encourage anyone with information on this case to call West Valley Police Department."

White Pine County Sheriff Dan Watts referred to the search area as "mild terrain" that has been used as a dumping ground for trash and a location where juveniles party. The remains of a man discovered last year in the county are believed to have been there for eight years, Watts said.

Chris Hanefeld, public affairs officer with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management’s Ely office, said the area can be dangerous with so many documented and undocumented mine shafts. Some of the shafts are filled with or masked by dirt and debris.

Melanie Peterson, an environmental protection specialist with the BLM, said there are "thousands of abandoned mine shafts" and adits in the county. A new BLM project aims to secure 209 of the high-priority abandoned mines as a public safety measure and to see if there are any cultural artifacts there.

Hanefeld said some of the shafts are as shallow as 20 feet deep, while others are as deep as 100 feet. That’s because miners would simply dig until they found ore and then stop, he said.

Mike Powell had told a crowd of reporters gathered for a 10 a.m. news conference that a total of 40 investigators, including some from the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office, would assist in Friday’s search.

"This is the first time we have been here to follow up on information that has led us out here," said Mike Powell. "Detectives have made a preemptive drive out here to see what it was that we may be looking at in the event that we did come out here."

Mike Powell invited reporters to accompany officers on their search at that news conference, saying police felt it was "important ... to involve the media in the process" as much as possible. The invitation was the first of its kind in the nearly 2-year-old investigation.

West Valley City Mayor Mike Winder acknowledged the news conference was unusual but said he trusts that officers know what they’re doing.

"If in their wisdom it’s best to have the press along, I’m for it, as long as it doesn’t compromise the investigation," he said.

City officials purposely don’t ask for case details to avoid compromising a sensitive investigation, Winder said.

"As far as the details of what brought them to Nevada, we know as much as the general public," he said.

West Valley City police on Thursday issued a statement saying investigators would conduct the search after they developed what Mike Powell called "credible" and "important" new information related to Susan Powell’s disappearance.

Susan Powell, 28, was last seen Dec. 6, 2009.

Josh Powell has told police he last saw his wife as he left her at home and took their sons, then ages 2 and 4, on a late-night camping trip to the west desert in the family’s blue minivan. Josh Powell has previously said he and the children stayed warm in the freezing temperatures with a generator and heater he had purchased two weeks earlier.

Police have said Josh Powell, 34, rented a car two days later that he put hundreds of miles on. Josh Powell remains the only person of interest publicly named by police in the case.

Josh Powell rented out the couple’s West Valley City home and moved to his and his wife’s hometown of Puyallup, Wash., after her disappearance. Powell and his father have previously said they believe Susan Powell ran away, possibly with another man.

Mike Powell on Friday reiterated the search has nothing to do with the disappearance of Steven Koecher, a Utah man who went missing about the time Susan Powell disappeared, and that the two cases are not linked.

The Coxes have said their daughter’s husband was abusive and that she would never leave her children — Charlie, now 6, and Braden, now 4. Friends of Susan Powell have said she and her husband were also having marital problems and financial strains. Josh Powell’s estranged sister, Jennifer Graves, has publicly said she doubts her brother’s story and believes he has something to do with his wife’s disappearance.

Josh Powell has denied those claims.

Susan Powell’s brother-in-law, Kirk Graves, said he watched the news conference and was baffled by the lack of information given by police.

"Wow, what was that," he said.

He and his wife, Jennifer, have no idea what the lead might be. In the past police have notified Chuck Cox, Susan Powell’s father, about leads. Cox said Thursday he contacted police himself after hearing about the Ely investigation from reporters. Police declined to give him specific information about the search, he said.

On Friday, Cox expressed disappointment.

"The way the build up was, I was hoping we were going to find something," Cox said. "I was kind of let down."

Yet Cox said he isn’t angry with police.

"I am confident they are doing their job and chasing down every lead," Cox said.

Cox and supporters are planning to distribute fliers Saturday at a busy Puyallup intersection to raise awareness about his daughter’s disappearance. Volunteers also will be distributing fliers in West Valley City Saturday — among them Kiirsi Hellewell, a friend and neighbor of Susan Powell.

Hellewell said Friday she was hoping for the best.

"Hopefully, they will uncover something at the search site," she said.

Old interview:

Fourth paragraph: “She knows she will be chewed up like hamburger when she comes back,” Josh Powell said in a Wednesday interview with The Salt Lake Tribune.

What an odd thing to say, "She will be chewed up like hamburger". It makes me wonder if he put her through a meat grinder or wood chipper to dispose of her body.

Josh seems awfully confident she won't be found in Ely, Nevada.

Watch his mouth, he is having a very hard time not smiling. Toward the end, it slips out and you can see the smile on his face.

Powell family releases journals that allegedly belong to Susan Powell

In one alleged entry, Josh Powell claims that Susan had written she had "taken 10 Ibuprofen," but then later admitted that she "wasn't trying to kill herself." The Powells believe the alleged journal entries from Susan's young life show that she was a troubled and even sexually motivated woman, who could have easily run off with another man in December of 2009.

"It is imminently clear that Susan led a double life, from the time she was 13, 14, or possibly even 12," says Steve Powell.

Chuck Cox refutes those claims, saying Josh has no right to his daughter's so-called journals. "They are not his. They are Susan's. They are alleging she is alive and if that's the case, then they are stealing her intellectual property and in violation of copyright laws. We will take action to protect our daughter," says Chuck Cox.

The Powells' continue to smear the victim and attempt to build a defense, even though Josh Powell hasn't been charged with anything. I hope the creep is arrested soon.

If this unnamed source is to be trusted, sounds like Susan's friends are striking back at the Powell's. If this is true, Steve Powell is very messed-up. For some reason, I believe this story. Mr. Powell Sr. gives me the creeps. Like father, like son.

For about a decade Steve Powell told Julia that he had been in love with and obsessed with Susan.

“Susan was the focal point of the songs he wrote and that are posted on the Steve Chantrey website. Those are but a few of the many more songs written about Susan,” Julia said.

“He is pining for a love he never could have,” she said.

“Steve was very proud of his stash of porn magazines he kept in a locked cabinet in his bedroom. He showed them to me when he lived at his previous Puyallup home,” Julia said.

Last fall Julia said Steve boasted that he still had the pair of Susan’s very sacred Mormon Temple Garment underwear that he stole from the dirty laundry when she and Josh lived at his house at the beginning of their marriage.

from a report i saw on cable, there may be something to the allegation that josh's father is a nasty old pervert who texted naked male photos to Susan. Sign_pervert pig.

searchers in Ely, Nevada said they've found what they were looking for, but would not elaborate on what exactly they were looking for in the first place.

The best indication is that the evidence may have been listed in an old search warrant, and investigators may have been looking for dirt in the area to see whether it matched dirt found on tires or shoes linked to the case.

whole dirty thing at link below.

The father-in-law of missing Utah mother Susan Powelltoday sensationally claimed that he enjoyed a 'very sexual' relationship with her and that they were falling in love behind his son's back.

Steven Powell said his missing daughter-in-law would frequently make passes at him and that they enjoyed 'sexual touching'.

Total fuckers, both of them.

I think there is something to the searches in Ely and they are getting nervous. I have always suspected that Josh and Steven Powell want to make it look like Susan was unstable and loose and ran off with someone, so when Susan's body or other evidence is found, Josh can use the SODDI defense.

This just solidifies my suspicion:

Her husband recently told the Salt Lake Tribune that he is willing to talk with federal authorities, but not West Valley City police.
He told the newspaper that he considered the search in Ely an opportunity for authorities to set him up.

'It occurred to me,' he said, according to the paper, 'they were planting something in Ely so they could magically show it to the media.'

Still refusing to cooperate with local authorities and attempting to create defense scenarios before Josh has been charged with anything. Very transparent and guilty actions, imo.

There is probably not one man in Susan's world who they could find to say she was anything but lovely and appropriate. So good old Dad claims a sexual relationship with her in attempt to verify that Susan was an unstable tramp and Josh was the victim. Not working.

The only part of this filthy shit that I believe to be true is that Steve Powell put the moves on Susan, creeped her out, and Josh didn't give a rat's ass. Father and son are both filthy fucks, imo.
