MLK was a republican. Imagine that.
Black America is quick to forget that the Republican Party was the Civil Rights party and the the Democratic Party was the party of the Ku Klux Klan. It was the Republicans who started the NAACP to stop the Democrats from lynching blacks. It was the Republican President Eisenhower who sent troops to Arkansas to desegregate schools, established the Civil Rights Commission in 1958.

His time was before the Dems convinced all the entitlement era blacks that the Republicans were bad, even though history reveals that the republicans lead the way to the equal rights amendment.
any black today that is a democrat is one because they want the free take out shrimp and their car payments made,and rent paid, by everyone else.

i was there for that speech on the Mall. i truly did admire his oratory.
since that is a very familiar place to me, D.C. being my home town, it will be very weird to see that monument between the ones i grew up with, Lincoln and Jefferson.
