A mother of two was allegedly trying to hold up a Subway sandwich shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but instead of cash, she got the shock of her life.

Police said 25-year-old Lorna Hampton attempted to rob the eatery while her young children were waiting in the car outside, but a quick-thinking employee stopped the would-be robber in her tracks by Tasering her.

The incident that happened shortly before 9pm on April 26 was caught on a surveillance video, which shows a woman entering the restaurant and approaching the side counter.

The store clerk later told the TV station Fox 23 that Hampton pointed what turned out to be a BB gun at him and demanded money, but instead of complying, he raced to the back to fetch his Taser.

At that point in the video, the woman could be seen jumping over the counter and beginning to take cash out of the register. A moment later, the worker returned and shot the robber with his Taser gun, plastering her to the floor.

The employee left the Taser prongs attached to the 25-year-old in case she tried to get up. While the employee and his co-worker waited for police to arrive, they say the incapacitated woman was still trying to rob the eatery.

‘She was still trying to get up and she was still reaching for the money,’ said the employee.

The quick-thinking Subway clerk said he felt bad for the would-be robber, who was weeping and begging him to let her go for the sake of her children.

Officers who arrived on the scene found Hampton’s two-year-old and five-year-old still in the car. The children were later released to a family member.

This is not Hampton’s first run-in with the law. In 2010, she received a deferred sentence on an assault with a dangerous weapon charge, according to court records.

A judge set Hamilton's bond at more than $200,000.

Group of 6 staple roommate's lips shut and cut him with Dremel tool

MAGNA, Utah (AP) — A group of six is behind bars after police say they bound their 41-year-old roommate’s feet with tape, stapled his lips shut, and spent the night torturing him with a small power tool in their Utah home near Salt Lake City.

Police believe the suspects were suspicious about their new roommate, who told authorities he’d moved into the house in Magna a week and a half earlier and had agreed to remodel the basement in exchange for rent.

...Police said the roommates struck him multiple times with objects including a crutch, a keyboard, a laptop and the butt of a shotgun.

“All night they tortured him,” Hoyal said....

Miami LE shoots naked man eating face off other naked man

Miami police shot and killed a man on the MacArthur Causeway Saturday afternoon... the naked man they shot was trying to chew the face off another naked man...

The bizarre shooting happened shortly after 2 p.m., when police responded to a 911 call about two naked men fighting on a bike path along the Causeway, which was packed with traffic on a busy holiday weekend....

With the attacker dead, lying nude on the pavement, officers and paramedics were able to get to his victim and rush him to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Police sources say the man had virtually no face and was unrecognizable....

So bizarre that this occurred at all, but even more bizarre that it occurred in broad daylight in a busy place.

This is like an episode of Criminal Minds or CSI....

OTTAWA—Montreal police said Wednesday the severed hand and foot shipped by mail to Ottawa Tuesday and a decomposingtorso discovered in a Montreal suburb are all from the same male victim.

Police confirmed to reporters in Montreal they are closing in on a suspect in the gruesome case involving, so far, three body parts: the foot in a package opened at Conservative headquarters, a hand found at a Canada Post warehouse in Ottawa, and the headless, limbless torso in Montreal.

“The suspect and victim knew each other,” Montreal police Cmdr. Ian Lafreniere told reporters.

“It isn’t linked to organized crime.”

The packages in Ottawa were mailed from Montreal, said police.

Montreal will now lead the investigation.

Two top Conservative ministers denounced as a “criminal” act the shipment of a bloodied severed hand discovered at an Ottawa mail depot and delivery of foot to the governing party’s headquarters.

“Bizarre and completely horrifying,” said Immigration Minister Jason Kenney, saying it was clearly a “completely disgusting criminal act.”

The Conservative government’s top security minister condemned the incidents as “very disturbing.”

Public Safety Minister Vic Toews said he was “not prepared to discuss security concerns” but asked if he views it as an act of terrorism, Toews said it was “an unusual development even insofar as homicides go.”

But he said he would not comment further on the ongoing police investigation.

A spokesperson for Montreal police said the investigation is advancing rapidly and that police should be able to identify a suspect in the “next few hours.”

Ottawa police intercepted a package at a Canada Post depot containing a severed human hand Tuesday hours after a bloodied severed human foot in a sealed package was delivered to the headquarters of the Conservative Party of Canada in downtown Ottawa Tuesday morning.

The gruesome mail delivery was accepted by a receptionist at the party’s 12th floor suite of offices.

Conservative Party spokesman Fred DeLorey said the package was brought to Jenni Byrne, a former senior adviser to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Conservative Party’s national campaign manager in the last election, “because it looked suspicious.”

“It was opened, Ms. Byrne examined it, saw the blood and smelled the odour and made the decision to call police.”

Delorey said that headquarters “staff are very upset and disturbed by what happened yesterday.”

“When we began to open the package we saw what appeared to be blood, and an extremely foul odour came from the package once it was partially opened,” he said in an email reply. “It was such a horrible odour I’m sure many of us will not forget it.”

“We called the police immediately. They came and investigated the package.”

Colin McSweeney, another top party official and trusted confidante of the prime minister’s, declined Tuesday to say anything about the issue, although he most certainly would have thoroughly briefed the Prime Minister.

Toews declined to elaborate at a news conference to announce funding for six “terrorism-focused research” to “counter violent terrorism in our communities.”

He announced worth $1.1 million, awarded under the Kanishka Project, a multi-year investment in terrorism-focused research.

NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair said his thoughts were with the Conservative party staff involved in the “terrible” incident.

“I’m thinking of the workers who are faced with that situation and I just hope the police get to the bottom of it,” he told reporters Wednesday.

GASTONIA, N.C. —

A man told police that a woman assaulted him after an argument over groceries Sunday afternoon, police said.

Police said the woman went to Charles Talbert’s home on Lakeview Street to confront him about the groceries. That’s when the argument became heated and the woman jumped out of her wheelchair and punched Talbert, 29, in the face and chest, police said.

Talbert told police she then removed her prosthetic leg and struck him with it, police said. 11516

Talbert said his cellphone and glasses were damaged in the fight.

Police said the woman was injured in the altercation after witnesses pulled her away. They said her dialysis tube was pulled out of her neck during the fight and she was transported to Gaston Memorial Hospital.

Her condition was not released.

I DO NOT FUCKING BELIEVE THIS! I WATCHED THE TRIAL! PEOPLE IN FLORIDA HAVE LOST THEIR MINDS!
PROFESSIONAL JURORS NOW!!

nbcMIAMI
A jury acquitted Aventura developer Adam Kaufman of second-degree murder in the death of his wife Tuesday.

The Kaufman family was joyous, with relatives hugging Kaufman, who was accused of strangling his wife, Eleanora Kaufman, in their Aventura home back in 2007.

"I'm able to just go home and put this all behind us as a family and move forward and look forward to raising my two kids without this looming over my head," said Kaufman, who maintains his wife's death was accidental.

His defense argued that Lina Kaufman suffered some type of heart attack or possibly a seizure, then pitched over and slammed her neck on a metal magazine rack in the bathroom.

Adam Kaufman walked out of the courtroom flanked by his lawyers, with his arms around both of their shoulders.

"She's here, she's been here through this whole thing, and she can finally rest in peace," Kaufman told reporters, as the last comment made him cry.

The 12-member jury began its deliberations around 10 a.m. after hearing the prosecution's closing rebuttal argument. During that presentation by prosecutor Matt Baldwin, a dramatic scene occurred.

Baldwin was trying to lessen the importance of a key moment in the trial: the testimony of the victim's mother, Frida Aizman, on behalf of Adam Kaufman. Baldwin asserted that Aizman only supported her son-in-law so she could continue to see her grandchildren. Aizman, who was sitting in court, blurted out, "Are you accusing me of lying?"

The judge ordered her to leave the courtroom.

Kaufman's team insisted Lina Kaufman, who reportedly had a history of fainting spells, passed out in the bathroom and struck her neck on the rack, and that her husband tried to revive her.

The defense's narrative is not true, the state charged. It said Kaufman strangled his wife in a fit of rage. HE KILLED HER!! Strangle

But the jury found otherwise Tuesday. There were too many holes in the state's case to convict Kaufman, the jury foreman said.

"There was a plethora of circumstances that led to reasonable doubt," he said.

Kaufman's twin brother Seth, who took the stand to testify last Thursday, said the family is very grateful and happy about the verdict.

Adam Kaufman said he is going out for a drink with his lawyers and family.

Wow. I am not surprised though. I don't know if its fucked up jurors, or incompetent prosecution and police investigation. Have you seen all the shit the cops down there are into? If the Prosecutions case was strangulation, it would seem that all they had to do was prove strangulation. That is a rather violent way to kill someone, it leaves marks, bruises, petechial hemorrages in the eyes, broken or dammaged (small bone in the throat, not attached to anything, can't remember the name). Manual or Mechanical strangulation leave different signs. No idea if he did it or not, if he did it looks like he got away with it, smarter than OJ

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A woman was arrested after stealing a wig from a beauty store and fighting with the store owner in an attempt to get away with it.

The 70-year-old father was back behind the counter, despite being punched, his store owner son was there too, even though he was bitten trying to catch the shoplifter.

"She started swinging at me and she hit me on the right side of my face and knocked my glasses off," store owner Jongyol Lee said.

They've been running the New Haven beauty store Sassy on Chapel for a decade and shoplifting happens nearly everyday. However, this time they were taking a stand over a $15 clearance wig.

Store surveillance shows the suspect leaving and the elderly man chasing her.
"When somebody is caught stealing like that usually they are shamed publicly, they drop it and leave," said Lee, "but in this case she continued on her way."

They followed the woman out of the store, across the street and all the way down the block.

"The length of a full block she just kept hitting me and smacking the back of my head," Lee said, "she kicked me a few times in my back."

The woman is Lowpel Davis, described by police as crazed kicking and struggling with officers who arrived on the scene.

Davis appeared calm in court, and seemingly unaware of the anger she stirred.

"We've been trying not to get involved like this," Lee said, "but emotions sometimes get heated, sometimes you can't walk away."

When police responded around 3:30 p.m. Davis was “crazed,” in front of the Giaimo Federal Building at 150 Court St., struggled with four federal protective service officers and kicked and swore at New Haven police, police said.

When officers handcuffed Davis, she tried to kick out the window of a police car and was eventually transferred to a windowless prisoner transportation van.

Officers were taken to area hospitals to be evaluated for bites and other injuries sustained during the struggle.

The store owner was taken by ambulance to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he received treatment for his bite wound and facial injury.

The charges against Davis include the following: sixth-degree larceny, breach of peace in the second degree, criminal mischief in the first degree, assault in the second degree and two counts of assault on police officers.

She appeared in court where her bond was set at $150,000. Davis’ case will continue on July 11.

A 73-year-old woman has been found in Louisiana after being charged with stealing and gambling away $97,000 from a trust fund for her grandson's college education, authorities said, but she may never return to Indiana for prosecution.

Edna Sue Pate was wanted in Indiana, where the charges were filed, but authorities there said they would not have her brought there to face the charges. Officials in that state had been ordered to extradite her only if she was found in a surrounding state, which would not include Louisiana.

Messages seeking comment with Lake County, Ind., Magistrate Kathleen Sullivan were not returned Thursday and Friday.

Webster Parish Sheriff Gary Sexton said deputies found Pate at a home in the northern Louisiana town of Minden on Wednesday. Sexton said his agency would arrest Pate if authorities in Indiana decided they wanted to have her taken there for prosecution — assuming she stayed at the same home in Minden.

"I have no reason to monitor her at this point," Sexton said. "If they wanted her, they just had to tell me (Wednesday) they wanted her. As far as I'm concerned she's a free lady. She can leave. She can go anywhere."

A probable cause affidavit filed last month by Griffith, Ind., police Detective James Sibley says Pate withdrew more than $97,000 from 2004 to 2007 from a trust fund account opened in 2003 under the name of her grandson, Christian Patrick Kenneth Smith.

The documents say Pate was a trustee on the account but did not have consent to use its funds for any purpose other than Smith's post-secondary education. The documents also say Smith was the sole beneficiary.

The court records claim Pate was known to frequent Indiana casinos and had set up a separate account in 2009 from which she made 49 withdrawals totaling more than $6,000 through April 2010, when the account was closed with a "negative balance."

The court records say 30 withdrawals from that account were made from ATMs at two casinos in Indiana. Records from one of the casinos, Majestic Star II in Gary, show Pate lost more than $93,000 during that time period.

GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A Pitt County man charged with murder says his girlfriend set herself on fire before shooting herself in the head.

The Greenville Daily Reflector reports that state investigators testified in Superior Court on Thursday that the charred remains of 51-year-old Teresea Derr Foster contained gasoline.

Foster's body was found in 2009 behind a home she shared with her 57-year-old fiancé Clinton Arthur Ridenour north of Greenville. A sheriff's detective says a red gasoline can was found on the couple's front porch swing.

Ridenour is charged with the first-degree murder and faces life in prison without parole if he is convicted. Ridenour maintains his innocence and says Foster's fatal injuries were self-inflicted.
