there have been conflicting reports all along, but i usually look to crap reporting for that. dead bolt, open window, open jeep doors, shoes on or barefoot. Sheriff saying they collected evidence on ground outside, but not what it was. this has nagged at me.
i don't know WHAT questions she showed deception on, or who administered it...the locals or the FBI. obviously everyone is reserving judgement right now.
TES is planning search again saturday. if they get told to quit that will speak volumes.

Sources in the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, which is overseeing the investigation into Devin’s disappearance, are not saying that April or her husband, Mike, are suspects. April submitted to a voluntary polygraph test, but some reports suggest she failed a portion of it. The sheriff’s office would not confirm that.

Moments ago Captain Rex Evans with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office announced the ground search for 2-year-old Devon Davis has come to an end. Every inch of area has been covered including a video flyover this morning by unmanned drones. Also a search with almost hand in hand across the property and the water this morning turned nothing.

The criminal investigation with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Rangers and FBI will continue.

LIBERTY COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- The ground search for a Liberty County boy missing for five days has ended, officials say, and it's now become a criminal investigation.
The announcement came at a press conference Saturday, on the fifth day since two-year-old Devon Davis went missing. Investigators wouldn't go into details about the criminal investigation.

LIBERTY COUNTY – Searchers believe they have found the remains of missing toddler Devon Davis in a scum covered pond about 300 yards from the home where he went missing.

The search was called off about a half hour earlier and the helicopters were making one final pass over the area, around 2 p.m., before leaving when they saw what they believed to be a small body in the water.

The area was immediately cleared of all non-essential persons while the recovery was made.

Law enforcement was speaking with the parents as of 2:30 p.m.

No confirmation has been given.

“Texas Equusearch has been asked to step down as the investigation has reached a possible conclusion,” DeFoor said. “Our searchers are very exhausted. It’s hot out here, these woods are thick, they’ve been going since Wednesday morning all day long, and it’s very taxing, but we’re very relieved that there’s a conclusion to the search. It’s a bad conclusion but it’s a conclusion at least.”

Texas Equusearch launched the drone about 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, the first day that weather permitted, DeFoor said.

From an altitude of 400 feet, the drone’s digital camera picked up a red shirt worn by the boy, who appeared to be floating in the southwest corner of the pond, he said.

“Once we got the photographs from the airplane back to the outpost, we reviewed the images and you could see a red color that looked out of place,” DeFoor said.

A helicopter flew over to confirm, and now law enforcement are in the process of retrieving the body, he said.

Aww poor little boy. Well im glad he was found at least. Is 300 yards a long distance for a toddler to travel by himself? I wonder if anyone is suspecting foul play? Sorry but if she is claiming her house was deadbolted, i find it hard to believe a 2 yr old unlocked the door himself.

CLEVELAND — The mother of a Liberty County toddler who has been missing since Tuesday has failed parts of a polygraph test, a law enforcement source close to the investigation said Friday.

April Davis, 27, who pleaded with the public to help find her son, took the polygraph test Thursday, said the source who did not want to be identified.

After FBI agents repeatedly questioned Davis about 2½-year-old Devon, who disappeared while she was home alone with her children, she agreed to take a polygraph exam to verify her account.

Liberty County Sheriff's spokesman Rex Evans refused to discuss the test results, just as he has also declined to reveal what items have been collected as possible evidence.

A dozen specimens were taken from the ground outside the upstairs bedroom window where the children took their nap as well as other items from inside the two-story frame house east of Cleveland.

My twin grand daughters just turned three this month and only in the past couple of months are they able to open the dead bolt. The one's here are easier to open than most. We have top locks but they would be able to go out just lately. So the boy went down a flight of stairs and opened dead bolt? Hmmmmm

Devon’s mother, April Davis, 27, said she had put him down for a nap, and she later fell asleep, when the little boy vanished on Tuesday.

Liberty County Sheriff’s spokesman Rex Evans said the death “appears accidental.”

“We’re all human,” he said. “I don’t think (the mother) did anything intentional at all.”

The family had just driven from Virginia and Davis was probably exhausted, he said.

The pond had been searched before, but plants covering the surface kept the boy’s body from view, officials said. Equusearch launched the drone about 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, the first day that weather permitted, Texas Equusearch coordinator Ken DeFoor said.

that's it until the autopsy results are known. if he simply drowned, and that algae is in his lungs which would indicate he was alive when he went in, yes, that's it for all intents and purposes.

The body was recovered as Captain Evans delivered the news to April Davis. April’s Davis was so distraught that he was transported to Cleveland Hospital by EMS.

Tim Miller commented on the story released about the mother failing the part of the polygraph. “We had her pegged wrong,” Miller said.

The death of the 2-year-old Liberty County boy found in a pond last week was ruled an accidental drowning, officials said. Visitation and funeral services for the child will be held at the end of the week.

The body of Devon Davis was found Saturday after four days of searching the woods and bayous of Liberty County. An autopsy showed that the child drowned to death, according to the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office. The toxicology results are pending.

Capt. Rex Evans with Liberty County Sheriff’s office said the visitation service will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Neal Funeral Home in Cleveland on Washington St. The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Cornerstone Baptist Church on Highway 105 between Cleveland and Conroe.

The Liberty County Sheriff’s office, Texas Rangers, Texas Equusearch and other volunteers who helped in the search will attend the visitation, Evans said.

The little boy’s casket rode atop Cleveland Fire Department’s Engine 41 from Neal Funeral Home to the church at 12:30 p.m., escorted by other fire trucks and emergency vehicles.
