Obama "supports" gay marriage...
#21
I think the timing was exquisite. The convention is going to humiliate that state in an interesting way. The last time they had a constitutional amendment, it was to deny black people the right to vote.

North Carolina law already banned gay marriage. The amendment voters passed Tuesday night by about 61 percent of voters effectively will seal the door on same-sex marriages and potentially have other effects farther down the road.

“Same-sex marriage was illegal today (since 1971); it’s illegal tomorrow,” said John Dinan, a political science professor at Wake Forest University who writes an annual review of state constitutional amendments. “There were no same-sex civil unions recognized in North Carolina today. Those will not be recognized tomorrow. The bottom line is there’s not a lot of change because of this amendment.”

Is it possible that the evil liberal socialist commie genius and his team of handlers somehow missed a political atmosphere that was obvious to some guy calling himself a dick and posting on the internet? You missed your calling, brainiac dick. You should be throwing your immense political savvy behind one of your favorites...

Do you think all politicians are smart? make only good choices? have a crew of people that they call advisors that are smart? make good recommendations?

Politics is all about choices good or bad, one political move could be good or bad, Obama thinks his shit don't stink and that he can say anything,do anything and then just forget about it later, His first campaign was full of this very same type of thing.

Only difference is this time He won't be the first black man who has a shot at being Presidnt He will be the first black President with his foot in his mouth.

He made a very large political blunder His skin color has nothing to do with it, The vote will reflect the political damage this time around.

I'm going to remind you of this post on Nov 5, btw.

Hopey changey.

Did you vote to fundamentally change America? 10 pens later and the first 787 billion was taken from the people of this country to give to who? Did you benefit?

Is this the fundamental change you voted for? to support wall street, fanny freddie(both government flops by the way) the automakers? the unions? solyndra? and a few dozen other green energy companies and their CEO's?

Get back to me in Nov and tell me you grew a brain, you could just impress the hell out of me if you did that.

Dick, why do you disagree with same sex marriage & why do you (and others) think it's any of your business? Does it effect your life and how you live it?

Uh, no. The alternative was to have an Alzheimers Vietnam torture victim and his YEEHAH "I can see Russia from my backyard" cohort in office. Surely you jest there was a choice in the last election, or in this one for that matter. I didn't vote for him anyway.

I never thought Obama was any different than Bush, and I voted for Ron Paul in the last election , idiot. I voted my mind.

If I ever impress you, I know my posting style will need to be overhauled drastically.

The real reason gay marriage is pushed so much is money. Social security, wills, taxes and health insurance are the benefits at stake here. Pride? There is not enough of that around today so that cannot be it. Its the MONEY.

I don't know why it's anyone's business what two consenting, law abiding adults do. I've never felt like it's my business. I honestly don't care what consenting adults do with each other & neither should anyone else.

When they get their own bathrooms in the White house we can talk, until then They need to use the woods, those little symbols on the door are there for a reason.

They show a man and a woman, I can see how confusing that must be for some people.

Dick and jane would never have been written, I have always been attracted to June Cleaver.

My Dad was Married to a woman, I'm the product of that Marriage, apparently some of their parts must have fit together right.

You can't get baby chickens without a rooster.

You can't get baby rabbits without both a buck and a doe.

even my apple trees have to have 2 sexes.

Something in that just seems right.

I guess I'm a stickler for details.

I know this has been brought up before, here and elsewhere in the media, but are elections really won or lost on one single issue? Or a combination of several? I know that there are people in this country who have a stance of "I won't vote for that black bastard" no matter what the issue..even if he parroted every single word that came out of Mitt Romney's mouth. And vice versa for the Obama supporters.
There are people who say that being a Mormon will hurt Romney..just like being a Catholic would supposedly have hurt Kennedy. To me, Catholics are no less a cult than Mormons.
Obama cannot even guarantee he has secured all the gay vote. I have some gay friends who would not vote for him for any reason.

I agree with you Dick on most of your points above. However, clearly there are some "design" differences for lack of a better word and some people like people with the same parts. None of that matters when it comes to marriage or civil unions or whatever you want to call them. Two people that want to marry should be able to do so. Maybe we should limit the number of marriages a person can have. Ok, you have been married twice already and it didn't work. Therefore, you have used up your chances and can never marry again. It's a person individual choice to legally join their life with another person. That choice should not be made by government or anyone else but those two people.

For someone who has endless rants about the government being in our business he sure doesn't have a problem with them doing it to those that make him so uncomfortable.

It's incremental, each position holds it's own supporters or detractors, with each decision and with each position come +'s and -'s to the voter pool for each candidate.

An undeniable fact that dick will ignore because he can't argue with its 100% accuracy.

No government interference! (except in the bedroom).

The point is pointless since guberment is the one who puts the question on the ballot.
