I haven't felt like cooking since October really. I've been getting all of my meals out. Since we don't really have fast food here that means fancy restaurants, coffee shops, and safeway or other grocery store delis. Oh, and the frozen section.
I cooked for my sister when I was on vacation. That was nice.
What is your go to when you don't feel like cooking? Like-I am looking for some creative ideas.

A bowl of Lucky Charms.
I eat a lot of salads filled with a couple different kinds of lettuce, baby spinach, cucumbers, slivers of green/red peppers, broccoli and cottage cheese.
Soup & sandwiches, especially this time of year. Grilled cheese & tomato soup, nomnomnom.
Omelet with cheese & mushrooms.
Tuna salad on crackers.
Generally speaking, I hate to cook. It's a chore to me and I never give anyone reason to expect it or to think it's something I want to do for them. However, I am totally into cleaning up the kitchen if someone else wants to do it. I'll even run errands to get whatever it is they need from the store in order to get dinner accomplished. There is a few times of year when I think I'd like to do something special, it's rare tho.

Oh yeah, I've been eating a lot of cereal. Soup is a good idea. I've also just been getting cheese and lunch meat and eating that with some lettuce. (I don't do bread)
I totally forgot I was planning on doing some crock pot meals-they can just cook all day and I would eat it all week and just change up a side dish or whatever I would add to it.
I'm going to try not to cook all the way up the Thanksgiving and then I'll see after that.

Mirah you may not feel like cooking but hopefully you can supply a nice white sauce to go with my Salmon tomorrow. It would be easy and you wouldn't have to put forth any effort. It would truly make me happy though and that is food for thought.

OMG I would love to make a sauce for the salmon. That is motivation for me.
And yes I wouldn't mind having a wife, or even being one I suppose. *wrinkles nose*
Is there going to be asparagus with the salmon? What type of veggie?

I'm not a big fan of cooking either but I have some pork loin, pork chops, ground beef, and chicken breasts sitting in my freezer and I plan find some crock pot recipes and cook the meats over my Thanksgiving and Christmas vacations.

Okay, I found a sauce that will go good on both the potatoes and the salmon.
By the way, my family always had a white fish (torsk) cucumbers and baby reds for dinner the night before any holiday. I don't know why, but I love the tradition and mom is brining the torsk again this year. I can't wait.

Gose Beurre Blanc
This sauce is a fun, simplified take on the classic French beurre blanc. We use lacto soured Gose ale which provides acidity and gives the sauce a unique depth. You can substitute with a dry white wine, but the flavor will lack the acidity of the gose.
Ingredients:
1⁄2 cup of Gose ale
1⁄3 cup of heavy cream
pinch of salt and pinch of white pepper
1 stick of butter (cold)
zest of one lime
Beurre blanc with gose ale - ingredients.
How to make it:
NOTE: Use the silky sauce right away or keep it warm near a stove or warm oven, for up to 30 min. Don’t try do heat it up by placing it over a stove burner once you’ve made it – it will break.

Not yet but I did get all the stuff to do it with. I took the fish out Sunday so I have time. I use cream of mushroom when I do rice.

We used to make something called "Chicken junk" basically rice, chicken and cream of mushroom soup.
I bought cans of stuff tonight and some groceries. I don't know why, I won't cook it anyway. Just kidding I might. Or maybe I'll just eat this tub of popcorn I got from the theater.
I got some taco meat and put it in the freezer for later. I'm trying to squirrel away stuff a little at a time.

If I'm only making food for myself I'm very simple and healthy. Some avocado and tomato on a slice of sprouted grain toast with a sliced boiled egg for breakfast. A small piece of fruit and handful of unsalted walnuts for snack. Some low sodium tuna fish and low sodium garbanzo beans over a salad with a squeeze of lemon for lunch. Ground organic turkey breast cooked with spinach and mushrooms and jalapeños along with a small sweet potato. Plain yogurt with some fruit and bee pollen if I'm craving something sweet. Lots of water, black coffee and a case of beer.
