You're right. It's my favorite. I've made it once or twice. It needed to be richer. I failed at the broth. Or the seasonings. It lacked something.

Yeah that's how mine turns out too. I get the onions and cheese and bread right, but something about the broth lacks something. I mean it's good, but it could be better.

I never would have guessed French onion soup. I've had French onion soup in fancy restaurants and it never looked like that picture.

Have you ever heard of Shirataki noodles? I found them over by the tofu at the grocery store. They're made from some kind of Asian root and only have 15 calories per serving. I wouldn't serve them up to my Italian nonna for Sunday dinner, but if you want something that fills you up without all the calories and carbs I think they're pretty decent. The root they're made from is supposedly very healthy too.

Edit: I meant for this to go in the 'food for thought' thread. Weird Shirataki Asian root noodles are not exactly food porn. Oh well.

Never heard of them, and it doesn't matter to me if they're healthy. I'll probably just end up drowning them in some god awful unhealthy, spicy broth, sauce or cream anyway.

Yuck. That pic is puttanesca-ing me off eating.

Just kidding. The boneless spare ribs bento box I just ordered online tonight hopefully will look better than that.

Yum. Haven't had that in years. Last time was when I went to a Polish dinner at my old church.

I LOVE cabbage.

I make them once in a while and they're good, but not as good as some old Eastern European grandma would make.
