I think Marco Rubio is an up and comer; I remember you mentioning him as someone to watch as well. There was a lot of enthusiasm when Republicans thought that he was going to be named as Romney's running mate.
Though not of color, I'm interested to see where Rand Paul's political aspirations take him in the next few years as well.
Rubio seemed like a decent guy watching him at the RNC. Well spoken, came from modest means.
I'll tell you who people DON'T want to see: Someone like Boehner. Guy makes my skin crawl. He still feels like he's in a position of such power, even after the beatdown the Republicans took.
If this Fiscal Cliff does not get taken care of, I'm blaming him. I think Obama is willing to negotiate, but Repubs are going to HAVE to raise taxes on those making $250,000+. There's no way around it.
