The Death List
Oh Bush Sr. died. For some reason I thought it was Bush Jr. who died. I thought his stupidity finally did him in and earned him that great big Darwin Award in the Sky.

The "old man" was a true patriot. My older brother was his pit bull; Senior sent him all over the world to take out the trash.

Did you guys see any of today's services?

I just saw a couple of clips.  Made me tear up, especially seeing George H.W. Bush's service dog Sully.

Bob Dole being lifted out of his wheelchair to give a proper salute at the coffin made me cry too.

I saw Sully and I saw Bob Dole too. I had heard that his family got him Sully after Mrs. Bush died but I can't recall where so I don't have anything to back that up. His family thought Sully would offer him some comfort.

I was very moved by Bob Dole too. He was going to stand & salute or die trying. He's 95 now.

I read that Bush's family got Sully for him in June and the service dog never left his side for the last 6 months.

Bush wanted Sully, who's now a global celebrity Smiley_emoticons_smile , to serve veterans after his passing.  Beautiful dog.

Sully, a two-year-old labrador, paid a final tribute to Bush on Sunday and he guarded his casket. Sully will now join the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center's Facility Dog Program. At Walter Reed, Sully will assist wounded soldiers and active duty personnel through physical and occupational therapy.

I'm listening to the funeral services in the background.  George HW Bush sure led a full and purposeful life.

I hate that the cocksucka man baby trump is there. Hate it. He's not worthy. Those that allowed him to be there have more grace than I do.

I missed all the eulogies so I just watched W's on C-Span. Oh Gods, that ending. Waaaah.

W didn’t even know that was going to happen.

Inner feelings just gush forth, and you literally have no way to stop it.

I spoke at my grandmother’s funeral in 2007.

She was very close to me... so, so good to me.

When I got up to speak, I got a handful of words into it, and suddenly was completely overcome with emotion, sobbing like a child.

I can't imagine myself in the position of eulogizing someone I love or cared deeply for. I want to be alone & wrapped up in my pain, it's not something I want to share. I think those that do are brave.

When my dad died I threw a 3 day party to celebrate his life. His eulogy was the easiest thing I ever did; I had everyone stand and I made a toast: "Here's to a good man, for the fun times we shared and the lessons he taught us, may he rest in peace."

Death is inevitable. celebrate the life don't mourn; that is the greatest lesson my dad taught me.

PS: that was one hell of a party.

I agree that a well lived life deserves to be celebrated. I like that.

W's eulogy was very moving and had me crying again.

I prefer 'celebration of life' ceremonies over 'mourn the deceased' ones too. Pappy's dad's outlook is a good one.

The parts of Bush's service that I got to see were touching and funny. He was clearly loving, well-loved, and respected by many.

These things are so emotionally and physically draining. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of my Dad my Mother or my Brother, not a day.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

In my ute I delivered coffee to a funeral home, a gypsy family was having a bbq on the grass. Drinking and carrying on, awesome.

I liked her personality, acting and directing.

She was 75 and reportedly died of Diabetes-related complications.
