ANOTHER SCHOOL/PUBLIC SHOOTING
(continued)

During an afternoon press briefing, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis confirmed the shooter was from Saudi Arabia, which has long relied on the US to train it military officers.

'There's obviously going to be a lot of questions about this individual being a foreign national, being a part of the Saudi air force and then to be here training on our soil,' DeSantis told reporters.

'Obviously the government of Saudi Arabia needs to make things better for these victims. And I think they are going to owe a debt here given that this is one of their individuals.'

I feel like this might have been the third mass shooting this week alone. 'Merica! The only place in the world where half the country doesn't give a fuck if you massacre nearly thirty 6 yr. olds in their classroom.

Now that we are self sufficient with oil I see no reason to keep sucking the Saudis spigot. The only reason to continue is the proxy war we are waging against Iran. We should have let Saddam keep them busy for years.

President Trump's Muslim ban, turned travel ban for legality, excluded Saudi Arabia -- though there had been no terror attacks on U.S. soil by nationals of the countries on the ban list and thousands of U.S. citizens died in NYC at the hands of 15 Saudis in 2001.

I think we both commented here that it reeked of politically and financially motivated shortsightedness back when the ban was implemented, or something to that effect.

Anyway, it's being reported that the U.S.-trained Saudi who killed and injured a dozen people at Pensacola naval base a couple of days back had hosted a party the night before where he and fellow Saudi trainees in Florida had watched videos of mass shootings.

At least one of them taped the mass shooting, 10 are being held at the naval base, and the FBI is searching for several others.

The manifesto which the shooter reportedly posted quotes Saudi terrorist Osama bin Landen.

I'm not suggesting that all or most Saudi visitors/military trainees in the U.S. are terrorists.  But, Saudi Arabia absolutely sponsored terrorism and was given a pass on the ban, which was justified as being necessary for 'public safety'.

Now, President Trump is making a point to tell the press how the Saudi king and crown prince have told him that they feel so very sorry about what the mass shooter did and will help the victims.

I'm quite confident that had the mass shooter been an Iranian or Pakistani or Somali........... he'd instead be condemning that country's leadership and Islam far and wide.

Again putting his own self interest above America's. That incompetent fuck already gave them a pass on Jamal's murder.

The Saudi mass shooter used a Glock .45 handgun in the Pensacola navy base attack.  He legally purchased the gun at a local dealer in Pensacola.

Since he was not a U.S. citizen, he would typically have been prohibited from transporting, buying, receiving or possessing a gun in the U.S.

However, there is an exception/loophole in the laws and ATF regulations which enabled him to do so; Non-citizens with hunting licenses, which this particular shooter reportedly acquired, can purchase and possess guns in the U.S. (that's really idiotic, in my opinion).

Another ATF exception may also have applied to this mass shooter; Non-citizens can possess firearms in the U.S. if they're from "a designated friendly foreign government entering the United States on official law enforcement business."

Or imagine if they were from Mexico. It would just be another large brick in the wall of safety. Keeping America safe from those dangerous people.
I'm surprised he hasnt' said anything about good or bad people on both sides.

Jersey City

David Anderson and Francine Graham shot to death Detective Joseph Seals at 12.30pm at a cemetery yesterday.

After killing Detective Seals, the killer couple drove a stolen U-Haul to JC Kosher Supermarket, where they shot a man on the sidewalk.

They then barricaded themselves and engaged in a two hour shootout with police and SWAT teams, during which two officers were shot (fortunately not fatally).

It ended with SWAT teams ramming the storefront.

Once they got inside, they found the two shooters dead along with the bodies of three innocent people; Leah Mindel Ferencz, 33, who was married to the JC Kosher Supermarket's owner, Moshe Hirsch Deutsch, 24, from Brooklyn, and a third, as yet unidentified victim.

Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop says the attack was a hate crime and the Jewish store was targeted.

It's been alleged that David Anderson posted anti-Semitic and anti-police rants on social media.

According to police sources, Anderson was a one time follower of an extremist branch of the Black Hebrew Israelite movement whose members believe they are descendants of the ancient Israelites.  The group is not associated with mainstream Judaism.

Police found a pipe bomb in the U-Haul, along with a rambling religious-oriented manifesto which didn't specify motive for the attacks.

Update -- Jersey City Mass Shooting

It's been confirmed that the police officer shot to death in the cemetery by the anti-Semite killers was investigating them for the murder of an Uber driver a couple of days earlier.

After killing Officer Joseph Seals at the cemetery, 50-year-old David Anderson (a four year veteran of the Army reserves) and 47-year-old Francine Graham (pictured above) killed three people at the Kosher Deli they targeted.

Anderson had a previous criminal record for weapons violations.  Graham had no previous criminal history.

It's not clear from the reporting thus far whether the perpetrators killed themselves or were instead killed by authorities in the shootout.

Jesus Mags.

No one except you has mentioned anything about pulling guns from every law abiding citizen to stop this type of thing.

It's weird to me that you so often feel the need to post your political hyperbole when we're covering terrible crimes and recognizing victims.

It's not that I get sick and tired of the rhetoric of "sigh" another gun tragedy that seems to say that guns in the hands of any American especially Americans that are law abiding gun owners get the kick in the ass whenever some nutcase gets a gun and goes postal. it's just not right. they are not to blame for mentally deranged idiots.

Again, no one but you made any mention of taking all guns away from law abiding citizens.

If coverage of yet another gun tragedy / mass shooting in the Crime forum equates to 'rhetoric which is kicking all law-abiding gun owners in the ass', that's a weird perception problem on your part Mags.

Anyway, we'll keep covering these terrible crimes (carried out by guns in the hands of homicidal criminals) and you can keep hearing/posting whatever unrelated musings you want in response.  I just find it odd and off-base.

I'm glad to see that you agree that guns in the hands of law abiding citizens is OK. Thank you. and that when there is a nutcase with a gun it does not reflect undesirably on the law abiding gun owners.

Keep swinging and missing Mags.

I never said that all guns should be taken from law abiding and responsible gun owners, so your original comment is as off-base and irrelevant as it was when you posted it.

As I said, respond however you want, even if you're responding to something that's only in your head rather than the thread.
