The year 2000 olympics should have been in Athens for obvious reasons.

They are trying to round up all the stray dogs in Sochi and kill them. These are dogs that were the pets and offspring of the pets, of the people who were moved out of there to make way for the construction of all the Olympic venues :(

This is insane. Truly. Russia's response to the tweets posted by the media is to say, we know you're lying because we've been spying on you, we know the truth because we have cameras in your rooms. Alrighty then.

Fuck all that shit, I'm going back to thinking about Torah Bright. If she wasn't a goddamned seventh day adventurer or whatever fucked up arranged marriage following religion she is, she'd be perfect..

I wonder if her “magic” Mormon bloomers will help her win a gold medal?

Despite all of the bad press, someone really really really wanted to get to Sochi.

A Ukranian passenger reportedly attempted to hijack a plane en-route to Istanbul today.

He allegedly claimed to have a bomb and demanded the pilot take him to Sochi for the opening ceremonies.

The plane was safely landed in Istanbul, as planned, and the man was arrested by Turkish officials. It doesn't appear that he actually had any weapons to carry out his threats.

So, we're off. The Opening Ceremonies focused on Russian history and a welcome to Sochi; international marketing.

I really hope the events are safe and well organized and the Winter Olympics are a success; lotta athletes have been working for years to compete.

1st Gold Medal Awarded

Sage Kotsenburg ^ of Idaho conquered the formidable Sochi slopestyle course to take home the first gold medal of the 2014 Winter Olympics. The 20-year-old American snowboarder emerged victorious from the men's slopestyle finals at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park on Saturday.

When U.S. snowboarder Shaun White withdrew from the event, two Canadian snowboard stars were considered top medal contenders. Kotsenburg, meanwhile, seemed surprised he was even competing in the finals just hours before winning gold.

Kinda cool surprise victory story.

It's got to be an incredible rush to not only be good enough to compete but to win the gold.

I get goosebumps when I hear them chanting USA USA. I'm a proud American.

We suck at winter sports.

Dickheads like Eddie “the eagle” Edwards kind of sums up our contribution to winter sports.

I was disappointed in the outfits that most countries sent their athletes to the games in. They sucked!

Great Britain got a bronze today (women's slopestyle)! Only the second snow medal in Winter Olympics history for GB.

Yeah just two medals on snow in the entire history of the winter olympics! We do suck at it and I'm not sure why, we get snow here and there are loads of dry slopes and artificial snow. slopes all over the country.

They need to shitcan Ralph, and come up with a different clothing designer.

I just read that those hideous sweaters cost $595 with the matching pants selling for $195. Some people pay a lot for ugly! They are selling in the thousands on ebay. Hahaha.

If it weren't for bad taste some people wouldn't have any taste at all.

Bodi Miller who is getting old but still competing says that down hill coarse is very dangerous, a killer even, its sharp at 82mph a person will just rip through the safety nets and go into a tree. This morning it was all sharp jutting ice. Some will not even go down and there has been a few accidents already. I was watching and a guy broke his nose. A treacherous coarse. One of the worse. I was wondering what the hell they were thinking when they built it.

When he says that it means something.
