Country/western is the anti-Gunnar.

Don't listen to country western a lot, but I really like some of it (same with rap, hip hop, etc..).

I like a good personal story -- lots of those in old school country songs. Always liked Johnny Cash.

^ I've got a magnet with that Johnny Cash image on my fridge. Don't even remember where I picked it up.

I thought wrong.

"My Maria" was a BW Stevenson song originally.

It was co-written by Daniel Moore, who also wrote "Shambala", which was a hit for both BW Stevenson and Three Dog Night.

The end of obscure music trivia...

I've been known to get to a hooting and hollering and breaking beer bottles when these songs come on the juke box.

I love old school country and the *new* country that is NOT record producer pushed down the throats of country/pop stations. Jamey Johnson is probably one of the 2 or 3 that have not sold out now. I only listen to Prime Country on sirus or listen to my iPod now.

The *country* I listen to now is Red Dirt/Texas music. Cross Canadian Ragweed, Reckless Kelly, Stoney LaRue, Wade Bowen and Pat Green.

Me and DearHoney fell in love to this song at a Shooter Jennings show in April 2006

We loved Shooter until he went off the deep end and got weird....

We just went to see Reckless Kelly 2 weeks ago on our annual *Tammy's Birthday Month show*---8th time seeing them. My all time favorite from them-----Crazy Eddie's Last Hurrah---sometimes you gotta kill a woman just because she pisses you off!!!!!

Long version and not the best sound but well worth it!!!

Hell . . . gimme some pedal steel, a fiddle, a 'lil shout-out to Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys and I'll give it a listen 'n maybe a dance!

And I'll always be on the dance floor with this one . . . or get busted at the gym, unknowingly singing it out loud.

I hated all that old stuff growing up. My dad was a long haul trucker, so on the rare occasions he was home and we got stuck in the car with him, we had to listen to that CRAP!!

I love it now. I wanted my BeeGees and Aerosmith back in the day.

My dads favorite was George Jones and Johnny Cash.

This puts a lump in my throat every time. Both versions.
