RETURN TO SENDER/ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
#1

Some of you may have already seen this. This town's mayor urged the residents to do something and they did, they blocked the road and wouldn't let the buses filled with illegals into their town. Is this an idea that every town should adopt?

A crowd of 300 angry protestors forced three buses carrying 140 undocumented migrant children and their parents to turn around in Murrieta, California, on Tuesday after they blocked the road.

The dramatic confrontation between the flag waving protestors and the Homeland Security buses came one day after Mayor Alan Long urged residents to resist the federal government's plan to transfer the Central American migrants to California to ease overcrowding of facilities along the Texas-Mexico border.

Holding up banners that said 'Return to Sender' and suggesting the children should be sent to the White House instead, the irate protestors succeeded when the buses turned around and headed to a customs and border facility in San Diego - within sight of Mexico.

I think it's great. I'm sorry these people have shitty lives where they come from. And I wouldn't mind them coming here for a better life if they worked and paid taxes. I resent them getting free education and healthcare.

Do you (I mean the collective you, everyone) find it a little weird that any if us lay claim to a certain little patch of the Earth? Even more ironic that we claim and protect it as ours when we stole it from someone else..

I always have a chuckle at the jingoistic Australians who cry out "those fucking gooks are taking Australian jobs!". Well hang on, there's some greedy Australian paying them a below award wage and not collecting tax from them to maximise his profit. He doesn't seem to have a problem with gooks being here..

Don't care. Anyone can come here through the proper channels. We wouldn't be able to go to any other country in the world illegally and be able to get all the free bennies these assholes do. I'm tired of paying for it. I'm also tired of paying for the lazy niggers getting their reparations through welfare. I don't owe any of these fuckers a damn thing. Cold hearted?...don't care anymore.

There are Mexicans applying for and receiving social services. This is money from the taxes of Americans. I think it's wrong. I don't know what the answer is but they shouldn't be entitled to this kind of thing.

...and furthermore, that bitch on the phone who instructs me to press one for English makes me feel irate. I'm an American, tell those who aren't to press a fuckin' button.

Tough crowd in here today!

I think we do a terrible job managing immigration in this country. Sometimes I wonder if there are more illegal than legal immigrants in the US now -- wouldn't surprise me.

It can only improve if businesses and employers stop hiring illegal immigrants to save money. But, then, if businesses outsource more to countries with cheaper labor, the same people screaming about illegal immigrants start screaming about lost in-country jobs. Crack down on illegal immigration and restrict outsourcing and prices rise -- more screaming.

I don't know the right trade-off equation to optimize the economy, but know that we can't have it all.

I live in the former furniture capital of the world. I work in insurance. We started having an influx of Hispanics move to our area around 1997-1998. They are not the ones that took our jobs. Our jobs were sent to Asia.

A huge chunk of my business was Hispanics and I would say that 90% of my clients paid better than most of my white good ole boy clients. I could almost tell you what time of the week they would be in to pay. Up until about 7 yrs ago, they also were able to purchase new or fairly new vehicles and paid huge insurance premiums.

Once they were not allowed to renew their driver license due to social security number issues, we lost a lot of business and a lot of premium since they didn't qualify for full coverage without a valid license. I hate that sterotype of someone saying they were hit by a Mexican without insurance because that is just not as common as the times I hear the saying each week. Yes it happens but it also happens with those good ole boys, the rich attorneys, doctors, etc who we have to BEG to pay their bills.

Do you realize how much it costs to get your citizenship? Sometimes close to 5 figures! One of my first customers is not a citizen but he and his family are all here on Green Cards and I hired his oldest daugther who is now 22 and has spent close to $8000 for documentation, attorneys and trips to ICE monthly for her citizenship. Her Dad works 3 jobs to keep his family going and they have adopted 3 children in the last 4 yrs. His jobs include a foreman at a factory, a cook at one of the most popular restaurants, and a cook at nursing home. He works an average of 14 hours a day, 7 days a week. As a cook, he has taken the jobs that most citizens are *too good* to do. His family in Mexico owns a dairy processing plant so he didn't move here for more money but to give his kids a life away from the crime and pollution.

I am not a *Mexican lover* (NOTHING irritates me more than 6 yr old interpreting for their Moms) just a common person that sees them as GREEN--money for my business.

Total fucking bullshit.I have just had a published article in a medical journal on the human rights abuses we are inflicting on unaccompanied minors and children, and asylum seekers in general. (if you don't believe me crash I will pm you the article). If you weren't mentally ill when you got here, by God by the time you have finished you will be fucked up by the time we are finished with you. All the handouts Dr Crash is alleging is untrue and helps perpetuate a bigotry and hatred in this country that I want no part of. I am not the only one who thinks like this.

There should be an easier path to citizenship, the problem is that most of the immigrants have no paperwork whatsoever and cannot document where they came from because the country they came from had no system that really did anything. Mexico has a problem with central Americans getting into Mexico, they seam to be allowing them to pass through without any problems, they are letting the U.S. deal with their problems. I think some backroom agreement happened a few months ago.

Wait..wut? You want no part of this country or no part of the said bigotry? I hope your fancy paper was less ambiguous..

I don't doubt you're right, Loosey Loo, I'm sure we don't do it for every illegal immigrant. I do remember reading about pensioners having their knickers in a bunch over some examples of it though. I was glossing it up a bit, you don't seem to have a problem with that most times..Smiley_emoticons_wink

I would be interested in reading your paper though.

Yeah..so you may wanna think twice about sending any grand kids on their own, red, we might fuck them up a bit. Make sure your boat can make it all the way too, cos we're pretty famous for letting a boatload or two drown whilst washing up on the rocks.

And if you do get the said benefit for a few weeks, that may not stop us sending you off to a poor island neighbour where your fellow inmates may rebel and whack you with an axe..

Sounds enticing, yeah?

I've always been amazed at how we never seem to have enough money to:
Take care of our elderly
Fix our road ways
help our Veterans
Educate our Children
Etc, ETc....

But yet we seem to have plenty of money for welfare & illegal immigrants

Charity, for lack of a better word, begins at home, in this case the United States. They need to take care of what needs to be done here, for our country & for our citizens before they begin handing out to illegals (or not) and other countries. Our government is so poorly managed. No one knows how to manage people nor finances. I could do a better job than many of them.

But, how do you manage it in a way that seems more organized when you've got one camp, elected by the people, who focus almost exclusively on the cost (real or perceived, monetary and otherwise) and another camp, elected by the people, who focus almost exclusively on the humanitarian issues?

Should the federal government try to be an interventionist mandating consistency between states? Or, should the states be able to decide their own laws and priorities in regards to immigration, welfare, gun control, etc...

There are countries where diversity is discouraged and one person and his delegation determine what's best for everyone. I'd rather be here than there.

I just turned the boat around...fuck that!

You people are heathens and treat your illegals like shit. We treat our illegals like royalty.

I think it should be up to the states to determine what is good for their state, their communities.
