Thanks for the update Jezreel.

From the link:

Kimrey was taken before a state magistrate and charged with:

-- Concealing of Death
-- Obstruction of Justice
-- Second Degree Burglary
-- Felony Larceny
-- Possession of Stolen Property

According to a press release from the FBI, Kimrey is currently being held in the Onslow County Detention Center under a $1,010,000 bond. District Attorney Ernie Lee has been consulted on the current charges and additional charges could be pending as the investigation continues.

Due to evidence gathered during the course of the investigation, it is believed that Mariah Wood is deceased. At this time, the location of Mariah Woods is unknown. The searches will now shift to a recovery process, according to the press release.

Kimrey has a criminal history that dates back to 2005, a larceny conviction in Alamance County. He was given probation and a suspended jail sentence. He was convicted in Onslow County in 2012 of assault or threatening of a government official and being drunk and disorderly. He was given probation and a suspended sentence. In 2015, he was convicted of larceny, this time in Brunswick County. He was given probation and a suspended sentence.

I wonder what evidence investigators uncovered during their searches.

The burglary is for two dressers he apparently stole from an abandoned home near by... why the hell is he stealing dressers in the middle of the night?

Rest in peace Mariah. Very sad.

I wonder what's up with the dresser stealing too. Maybe it was part of an attempted alibi. Or, maybe he was going to try to throw together a makeshift coffin out of them. Or, maybe a dresser was damaged during whatever happened to Mariah and he needed to replace it before the cops were called. Curious.

I hope mom wasn't involved. Either way, she picked a real winner to bring into her children's lives.

Mom Failed to Protect Mariah from Sexual Abuse, According to CPS Doc

Mariah's father Alex Woods told reporters that he has been fighting to get Mariah and her two brothers out of the custody of mom Kristy Woods and her live-in boyfriend Earl Kimrey for a long time. However, since he and his girlfriend Heather Craft couldn't afford an attorney, the courts did nothing.

He released a document provided to him by Child Protective Services. The document was produced after Mariah's brothers were interviewed following Mariah's disappearance.

The boys, pictured above with their dad, said that their mom and Kimrey did drugs, Kimrey beat them with a belt, and Kimrey sexually abused Mariah -- all of which was known to their mom. 36

Kristy Woods, the children's mother, knew of the sexual abuse and reportedly "failed to protect the juveniles from exposure to sexual abuse," the document alleged.

There is also a history of police being called to the residence regarding domestic abuse and violence, one of them against a juvenile.

The boys are currently in the custody of their paternal grandmother.

I hope she's prosecuted in some fashion. She played a major role in her daughter's death.

After investigators gather more evidence and interview all the family members a few times, I'll be surprised if Mariah's mom doesn't get charged with neglect, at the very least.

Kimrey remains in jail on very high bond, but still hasn't been charged with Mariah's death. Investigators need to make sure they have a solid case before they up the charges against him.

Really hoping Mariah's body was in good enough condition when it was removed from the creek for the ME to determine what caused her death (and anything else the pieces of shit did to her).

Sometimes it's hard for me not to hate in these kinds of cases.

Autopsy Released / Death Penalty Sought

[Image: 4E67B2DF00000578-0-image-a-14_1532015186091.jpg]

The autopsy report on Mariah Woods, 3, was released today. The Medical Examiner noted injuries, no trauma to the cervix or anus, and high levels of chloroform in Mariah's system and concluded that the little girl died of chloroform toxicity.

After she was killed, Mariah was wrapped in three white trash bags and put into the cover of a couch cushion with cement before being thrown into a creek. :(

Her mom's boyfriend, Earl Kimrey (pictured with Mariah and her family above), has been charged with first degree murder and faces the death penalty if convicted.

Mariah's mom, Kristy Woods, has been cooperative, according to public reports. She hasn't been charged in Mariah's death.

As far as I know, Mariah's brothers are still living with their paternal grandparents.
