IS THIS BULLSHIT OR APPROPRIATE?
Yeah, your points are valid Mags and Rootilda.

Based on the story as it's being told now, I just wouldn't charge him with a crime if I was the prosecutor (unless the family/victims were pushing for it, which they're not).

If gramps lifted her up above his head preparing for her to touch the window, I could see how he lost hold of her when there turned out to be no barrier/window.  But, it's not clear to me yet exactly how he was holding her.

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see how the details shake out.  I could easily change my mind about the appropriateness of the negligent homicide charge if it turned out gramps was hammered, or the family started screaming about a lawsuit while still on the ship and raised suspicions, or gramps himself opened the window or ignored warning signs and lied about it...

As of yet, nothing like that has been put forward.

So, now it's not clear to me if Anello was holding Chloe when she fell or not.

I'd sure like to see the cruise ship's video of what transpired (along with what Annelo was doing before the incident).

Snip:
The details of the toddler's death have been disputed since the accident. Port Authority officials said Anello sat the girl in the window and lost his balance, and the girl fell to her death.

Winkleman, (the family's attorney)  however, told media that the toddler loved glass and windows, and her grandfather had placed her on a ledge by a glass wall, but had no idea one window within the wall was open.

Royal Caribbean "has still not given us the opportunity to view surveillance video they have of the incident," the attorney said.
