HEY YOU!
#1

I know that Donovan & JSMom have bought puppies into their homes in the last year, how are they doing? MS' kids have been BEGGING for a dog for a loooong time, begging. Shame on you, MS.

Sally has dogs. I covet Max. BH has a dog, so does User. Is everyone in here a pet owner except for the heartless MS? Maggot, what do you have?

You know the funny thing is, dogs and babies/kids love me.

I go out to my wife's parents' place and the Golden literally won't leave me alone until we leave (probably because I play ball with him).

Anyway, my wife and I share the blame with the dog decision right now. We're both selfish.

I love having this dog. Between the little dude and the puppy attacking me every day starting at the asscrack of dawn it's damn near impossible to stay in a bad mood. Life is pretty good.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

I have one (currently overweight) creme colored toy poodle. She has some mental health issues (like owner) so we get along well. She has some very irritating habits, however, and all my fault.
She used to bark at me to get on the floor next to her when she eats. I could get down on floor with her, but it got too difficult to get up hahhah so I quit doing that. Sometimes she eats without one mishap or behavioral problem, but she likes to tip over her dish a lot so that food spills on carpet. She also likes to push empty dish around with her nose/paw.....she can literally drive me crazy with the noise. When she was diagnosed with Valley Fever 2 years ago, she lost a lot of weight and was in intensive care, etc. and almost died, so to get her to eat more, I fixed chicken (boiled or baked) to give her with the dry food, preceded by an appetizer treat. She would at least get a little protein and she got better, but still has Valley Fever and taking meds for it. She is tested every 6 months and blood test costs $285.00...well, she is now eating like a little pig, eats everything in sight and taps her bowl for more so now the Vet tells me to cut down on her food....I am trying but she barks at me if I don't fill her dish when she wants food. Oh me.....The last blood test last week showed that she had high liver enzymes which is a little scary because she has thrown up a few times (sign of possible liver disease), but she is 5 pounds overweight and still eating so not going to worry about that right now. Her name is Bitsy, but some of my friends call her Bitchy. We are buddies for sure, even with her craziness....I know, like owner, like dog.....

Do you have any pets? I just have my dog right now but at the height of our pet ownership (largely because of the kids), we had the dog, a cat, two guinea pigs and a fish. Part of me admires your resolve but then again I don't know how you deny a kid(s), the pet experience. Then again, when I was growing up, we had a pet skunk (B.O.), a raccoon (Bandit), a boa constrictor, rattle snakes, a rat, hamsters (my brother wanted to feed his boa with one of my hamsters), turtles, lizards, cats, a tarantula...

I grew up with different sorts of pets so when my kids started asking...I was a softie/sucker.

Does a skunk under the barn count? That SOB is back again, the snow opened a hole in my aluminum mesh birdscreen and the stinky shithead found it.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

Only if you snuggle it and tell him what a good skunk he is.

I would teach him to rake and trim shrubbery if I could do that.

I'm hoping when/if we ever move out of this big house and into a 3 bedroom apartment, the apartment allows small pets(like cats).

I think all families should be blessed with pets unless you're some kinda freak who gets off on hurting them and then I just want you dead.

Not me. I smother other people's pets with so much love that sometimes the owners comment on how their pet loves me more than them.

My pup is doing great and getting big. I love him to pieces. He loves playing in the trampoline. Smiley_emoticons_smile Thanks for asking, Duchess.

I was genuinely interested. You know I'm very fond of most critters, whatever they may be. Your boy must be thrilled, huh.
