I'm pretty quiet actually and don't have factoids or data stored in my head or stuffed in my back pack. But, I do like listening to others rattle them off.

You might want your money back if you paid to watch me Duchess. I'm low-key, probably even boring most of the time. And, no chance of me making out with Donovan or anyone else and losing a good thing.

But, I guess it would be pretty amusing to watch and listen if Donovan decided to try the old behavior modification and jedi mind tricks on me.

You wouldn't stand a chance against my powers of persuasion. Just take a look at my track record with women--errr, wait.

Ok maybe not so much. I think I figured out why behavior mod doesn't work as well on women though. First, you're not supposed to tell them what you're doing. And second, jedi tricks don't work on those who have already been seduced by the dark side.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

Well aren't you little lovebirds cute.

Don't be jealous, Jimbone.

I guess Donovan wasn't a man after your own heart after all.

It's possible he's just not that into you -- happens.

Classic deflection, but it's cute, really.

And I'm perfectly content to wander history by myself. Have been doing it for decades.

Relax and put the claws away, Jimbone. There's nothing going on between me and Donovan.

There's no reason to give up so easily -- maybe your come-on line just came on too strong, with the "heart", and "soul", and "touching" and all.

Play it cool and lay off the sweet talk until you give him a chance to know you better; that's my advice.

Thanks for the advice. No homo though... despite your good natured prodding.

I'm just having some fun with your poking posts.

I don't care who's gay or straight or bi or whatever.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like there was a weird vibe on the board today; like everyone ate too many brownies or something. Not that that's a bad thing...

I have an old book I think published around 1800 in it there are maps and the locations of the indian villages before the Europeans came in and claimed the land for themselves. Sometimes I like to find the old sites and see whats there now. Sometimes they are covered with a mall parking lot but sometimes I get lucky and find one that's overgrown and away from development. I never find anything but just like walking around and looking.

I like that kind of exploring too, Maggot.

But I hardly ever have a chance to do it. Or, maybe I don't invest enough effort to make it happen. One of the two.

Either way, it's a cool way to spend a Saturday or Sunday.

Does your son or daughter like those kinds of adventures too?

Mags, You should try that with a copy of Damron's Guide from the 60's and see what happens.

There's a big lake just west of Minneapolis called Lake Minnetonka.

It was discovered in 1822 by the son of the Commander of Fort Snelling at the time. I think I read the son was 17 or so, and he was accompanied by another person.

I'd love to be able to take a time machine and go back to 1822, paddling a canoe up Minnehaha creek (right next to the Fort), through Indian territory and come out into the lake.

I can't imagine the adrenaline rush of being alone in wilderness like that and not knowing what's next.

The north shore of Lake Minnetonka was a sacred Sioux burial ground at the time.

How those two survived and were able to return is pretty remarkable.

I have a couple pairs of Minnetonka boots and sandals too. I love their products!

I believe it.

I will post a couple of pics this summer from the lake. It's beautiful and probably the most popular destination for boulders in the state. Which is saying something.

Given I live so close to the ocean you'd think I'd be into sand & surf but I'm not. I prefer the mountains & nature. Give me a secluded mountain cabin over a beachfront cabana.

Beaches are overrated. Yeah the ocean is beautiful and impressive to look at. But sand gets into everything, and after you get done staring at the waves and pondering the meaning of life, all that's left is to either wander up the beach or lay there. With sand in your asscrack. Not my idea of a good time.

I'd probably pick a mountain cabin near a lake or stream over the beach most of the time too.

But, hardly anything beats a few hours on the beach on a hot day -- reading, swimming in the ocean, and napping.

I don't mind the sand getting in my hair or up my ass; one little shower solves the problem.

I agree with HOTD. I love the beach. I love the sound of the ocean.

The very first time I walked into the ocean I was hit by a wave that damn stripped my clothes right off me. I was wearing a pair of cutoffs and a tiny little shirt with flimsy straps, the force broke the straps and pulled my shirt to my waist. In a split second it was complete shock & awe.
