FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Someone just texted me and said there are local tomatoes & corn at a farm stand in my 'hood. The tomatoes are nearly $5 a lb. and the corn is $10 a doz. Does that seem high to y'all? It does to me.

Isn't the corn about $4.00 a dozen? They sell 3 ears for a buck here. I just saw a flyer in last Sundays paper. It's not local corn.

I forget from year to year what it is but I do remember I grumble about the price every year because I always think it's high. Ten bucks for a dozen seems sorta outrageous to me.

...but I didn't mind paying $200 for 14 grams of weed. Priorities, ya know.

I don't know why but people give me weed now. I haven't bought any in a year and am still working on the oz. I got 2 months ago. I had corn a few weeks ago......man I love it with butter and salt. I will eat it cold too. Now I want some for the weekend.

Being given weed is a gift!

I love corn on the cob too. It tastes like Summer.  Smiley_emoticons_smile

Yeah I wish I had gotten the weed gift more often. Now it looks like the person who shared his weed with me might not being working at the cigar shop. I wish i knew how to find a local dealer without looking like a narc or undercover cop.

I love corn on the cob, but my teeth are too fucked up to enjoy it.

A friend of mine was just telling me how expensive stuff is right now. I figured it was the normal "tourist season" price gouge. Also I don't pay attention to prices too much. : ( I am a terrible shopper that way. I just buy what I need, I mean with the occasional refusal if something seems way too high. (Usually for a sweet item I don't need anyway)

Ask them to define 'local'  if you've been living in the same place for over 5 years,  you should know when local tomatoes and corn come out.

I made the worst cup of coffee this morning.
I'm still drinking it too.
I should make a new pot.

Bad coffee is way better than no coffee. Wanna cuppa mate?

Um what is that?

I discovered it was the coffee. How the fuck does coffee go bad? : ( It is expensive local coffee too. I didn't seal the bag. I didn't think it would really make a difference.

I dont know about Ms. Butterworth, but Uncle Ben and Aunt Jemima were originally based on slaves. Seems like they could have gotten a new slogan by now. Old black ass mammy cooking up pancakes for the white childrens and uncle Ben cooking up red beans and rice for the rich folks is kind of fucked up. Not to mention profiting billions upon billions of dollars on garbage, you ever read the ingredients in that stuff? It's not like changing to a new slogan is damaging history. But let's go destroy monuments so the US has no history or culture at all. Unlike the rest of the world.
