CAPITALISM
#1

I'm a capitalist and there have been a few times where I've sorta felt I've been looked at in not a good way because of it. It doesn't really bother me when that happens because I don't understand where it's coming from. hah

Would you agree that working hard is the only way to get ahead in terms of what you own and the money you have? Why do you think that is sometimes frowned upon? Seriously, who doesn't want more?

I do think working hard is how you get ahead. I know some people need a little help due to certain circumstances and I'm ok with that. I am not ok with working my ass off and handing it over to some lazy slob.

I love marking things up 60% sometime over 100% I'm not big on the Wal-Mart business model, they have to be assholes to their suppliers.

I believe in working hard and earning your own way. There are some people that I don't mind providing some assistance to for basic necessities...food, clothing, shelter but there are millions who are just milking the system who I'd be happy to see get kicked off the welfare truck. Welfare and governmental assistance just keep growing and growing and growing...with no end in sight. It's gone way beyond giving those that need/deserve a slight hand up help; it's a massive, fraud filled, de-motivating machine.

I live in a fairly affluent area. I didn't always. The first home I bought myself was a townhouse that I could afford but which also required an hour and a half commute each way to work. But that's what I could afford at the time. I lived there and made that commute for several years.

Fries my chops when they talk about building more and more and more "affordable housing" in this area. The advocates often bemoan the fact that people that work in our county can't necessarily afford to live here. So fucking what! You either chose the wrong line of work or you need to save or you have to deal with a fucking commute (or get a roommate or 4). I don't know but we've done a nice job creating small ghettos around our town. "High density affordable housing" just translates to building a small ghetto as far as I'm concerned. It's stupid. But as Tiki would say...follow the money. I don't know the exact "trail" in this case but we have a certain quota we need to meet in order to get x federal/state dollars. I understand the NIMBY mentality too. They briefly eyed a vacant lot about 13 of a mile from my house for some high density, low income housing. Fortunately they set their sights elsewhere. *phew*

Definition:
An economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained chiefly by private individuals or corporations, especially as contrasted to cooperatively or state-owned means of wealth.

The game Monopoly is a good example.

A condition of having capitol.

The key is private individuals owning capitol.

I want more(new TV, computer, bed,my own apartment, etc.), but since it seems I'm never going to get it, I've learned to be content with what I have. It doesn't help that I can't save up money, because my brother is now mooching off of me and dad instead of mom and dad. I wish sometimes I wasn't such a pushover/good Christian.

Clang, you're not doing him any favor by giving him what he wants. Please, stop. If you continue to give him what he wants he will never be forced into making his own money and you will continue to be broke. Just stop. When you get paid, pay yourself first and by that I mean open a savings account and put the money in immediately.

Can you tell me what is stopping you from telling him no when he asks? It's not like he makes life easier for you at home, he doesn't. I've seen you say he doesn't help around the house. He's a freeloader and you are enabling him.

yes, ma'am. We're going to the Sterling Renaissance Festival this weekend and I'm going to try and make sure he uses some of the money he got from the NYS unclaimed money website to pay his fair share of the expenses. So far I paid for the hotel room and he won free tickets. I've already stopped paying for some of his meals that we eat out. Usually it ends up that I pay for lunch and dad pays for dinner.
I'm usually stopped from telling him no because he threatens not to make me his plus one when he wins the free tickets for concerts and events. I could cut him off, save up and pay for the stuff myself but seriously who doesn't love free stuff?

I wish I could be like my oldest brother who came here last weekend to help us clean up the house and get ready to move out in the fall, but instead ended up leaving in a huff after chewing my brother out for not looking for work and doing more chores and stuff around the house. My brother actually said "if we were both working then our situation would be the same." I told him no it wouldn't. Before, the pipes burst and the furnace broke and it got too cold I was working a couple hours a day on my days off, de-junking the house. Also, I was getting no help from you so I gave up my cleaning effort. It's sad but our old retired dad does more than my unemployed brother and dad sleeps half the time.

Oh and I do have a savings account opened. But have not been able to put anything but the minimum $200 required to open it. To be fair, my brother's freeloading is part of the reason why I haven't saved but it also doesn't help that I've had like $1200 in speeding tickets in the last few months.

I know, I know................His balls are small and that ain't all,
he's not very tall and his names not Paul.
So if you say Y'all and he start's to crawl
remember this
he sits to piss.
So as just sayin he won't be prayin
because sins a chore and Gods just a whore,
But then you're a wanting and so there's your answer,
Clang is a deer, he could have been Prancer.
So happily churning
The fields he would plunder
It makes me think "What spell are we under"
I think I'd just shoot
That son of a bitch
Being so lazy he wouldn't even twitch
So there is the tale of the sorry saps ass
I'm sure even apple could turn
It as an app.
