RIO OLYMPICS

She has been suspended and her contract terminated. The decision to discipline her came after she called the Swedish team "a bunch of cowards". She had a meeting with Coach Jill Ellis and the federation's chief executive, Dan Flynn and they gave her their decision.

Hope seems like such a hard young woman; always fighting or talking shit off the field. She has no grace whatsoever, but she sure was a hell of a competitor on the field.

In other disgraced 2016 Olympian news: Ryan Lochte lost all of his sponsors after his bogus story about being a victim of armed robbery in Rio was busted open. Looks like he'll be trying to boogie his way back into the hearts of the American public and advertisers by competing on Dancing With The Stars this season. I read that Marcia, Marcia, Marcia Brady (Maureen McCormick) will be competing as well.

I never really paid attention to the Olympics before, but for some reason I had this false sense that it had a lot to do with sportsmanship and respect for the other teams and competitors. Where the hell did I get that impression from? Bunch of assholes.

The Olympics should be held in the same place every 4 years. Italy would be good. Sweden for the winter games.

It generates huge revenue for the hosting country, so I don't think that's ever going to be doable.

I agree that there should be 2 set venues but only because I saw what Rio was like. They didn't even have enough money to have clean pools and the rooms sucked. I'm pretty sure those kids shouldn't have to be worrying about making their own half assed shower curtains.

I haven't hear anything about the increased revenue Rio got from the games, instead it was a big commercial of why NOT to go there.

Rio did it wrong.

In reality, I think a lot of it's profitability has to do with what is going on in the world at the time the games happen.
