The Warriors eliminated Houston tonight with a 30+ lead. Livingston, Klay, Draymond, Iggy, Barnes...all played great. Klay Thompson set another record tonight. He's the first player to hit 7 or more 3-pointers in back to back games. I feel bad for James Harden; he's a great player for the Rockets, but Howard is so inconsistent and there's not a good groove with that team. Harden scored 35 points tonight.

The Clippers lost to the Trail Blazers tonight. Losing both Griffin and Paul to injuries this week majorly sucks. I think the Trail Blazers will probably win the next game and advance to round 2 against the Warriors.
I don't think the blazers have anything for the warriors in post season play.

Spoken like a true novice.

Damian Lillard was hanging with Steph during the regular season.

The Blazers (if they advance) will win at least 2 against a Curry-less Warriors squad.

The Blazers are forever under-rated but in this case the Warriors are gonna be too much for them. They didn't even miss a beat losing Curry, and none of them look even winded at this point.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

Lilliard is fun to watch and a tough competitor. I think the Trail Blazers were responsible for one of the Warriors' nine losses during the regular season?

Still, a Clippers series with both Paul and Griffin on the court would be tougher for a Curry-less Warriors team than Lilliard and company, in my opinion.

But, I agree that the Trail Blazers have what it takes to win at least a couple of games against the Warriors if Portland eliminates the Clippers and advances.

Last night's Clippers / Blazers game was some good basketball.

Very close game, but Portland outscored LAC by 3 points and eliminated the Clippers.

I'm anxious for the Warriors / Blazers series and the Spurs / Thunder series especially.

Two of the round 1 match-ups have gone the full seven games.

-Today at 10 am PST on ABC is game 7 between the Hornets and the Heat in Miami.
-Today at 5 pm PST on ESPN is game 7 between the Pacers and Raptors in Toronto.

In between, at 12:30 PST on ABC, is game 1 of the Warriors vs. Blazers here in Oakland.

I've got the Heat, the Pacers, and the Warriors today. If all three of my picks are winners, I'll be.............. $10 richer! Smiley_emoticons_hurra3

In other NBA news, Luke Walton has accepted the head coach position for the LA Lakers. My family loves Luke. He's a former Laker and only 36 years old. My dad always really liked his dad Bill Walton. Anyway, Luke did a great job filling in for Kerr when coach was out a few months during the regular season, he's reportedly a great assistant coach, and he's moving south after the finals.

Well, I was rooting for the Pacers and they actually did put up a fight against the Raptors in the fourth last night (I'm a fan of Monta Ellis). But, the Raptors are tough and won the final game of the series by 5 points.

The Heat blew the Hornets off the court and took that series. Miami vs. Toronto series starts tomorrow night.

The Warriors beat the Trail Blazers in the first game of their series. Klay scored over 30 points again. Draymond got a triple double. And, I saw Andy Varejao smiling through his double technical altercation with Henderson; I see what koko likes about his demeanor.

The Spurs trounced the Thunder in the first game of their series as well.

The Cavaliers vs. Hawks series begins tonight at 4 PST.

Believe it or not, I think the Blazers may have taken a Curry-less Dubs squad lightly.

Lillard got his (30), but Portland needs to find an answer for Draymont.

They'll still get 2 but they'll work for those, and still come up short.

The Trail Blazers have a good team and a great player in Lilliard. They're one of only a handful of teams to beat the Warriors in regular season. But, I know a few people who have bets on the Warriors sweeping Portland in 5.

One of those people told me this weekend that he considers the Warriors without Curry to be the best team in the league, right behind the Warriors with Curry. I argued that the Cavs or Spurs might hold that spot for me, but he could be right.

Anyway, to me, it would be something for Portland to win two or more games against the league champions. I think the first game against the Warriors with Curry on the bench might have been more difficult than the next one -- unfamiliarity. Aside from Draymond, the Trail Blazers had to contend with the giant known as Andrew Bogut harshing their gig last night in Oakland. I don't know if Portland can regroup enough to take game 2 in Oakland, but I expect them to win game 3 and/or 4 in Portland.

It's pretty difficult to sweep in the second round these days. I'd put $50 up against the Warriors sweeping. If the Warriors got out ahead and take their foot off the gas to rest up players for the next round I wouldn't be shocked knowing they have Curry to anchor.

Yeah, I've got the Warriors in 6. My friend and his son have the Warriors in 5, which I just realized wouldn't be a 'sweep', as they described it.

You put any $$$ down on it? You've been pretty lucky lately.

Feels like the second round is a bit more boring overall. Not as big an interest, mainly because there are a couple teams who are limping along and not really deserving to still be playing.

I don't really bet much like some of my family and friends do -- just $10 here or there.

The round 2 series seems to be heating up after a couple of game 1 blowouts. I caught the last half of the Spurs / Thunder game last night. After getting obliterated in the first game of the series, OKC was doing it like they needed the money in San Antonio last night. Awesome game. OKC pulled a win out in the last seconds, BUT not without controversy.

Refs neglected to call OKC's Dion Waiters ^ for this offensive foul he committed on the inbound play. Waiters clearly elbowed the Spurs' defender from outta bounds; which would have turned the ball over to the Spurs with 13.5 seconds on the clock, when they were down by 1 point.

Pop was interviewed right after the game. He seemed to be seething under the skin, to me. He was somewhat critical of his team's play, and had to be frustrated about that last uncalled foul.

If the Spurs can hold it together they can give the Warriors a run for their money.

I saw that the game 2 set were all quite a bit better after I wrote that. I'd like to see the Spurs face the Warriors but if Golden State coasts while resting Steph Curry for all or most of Portland, and OKC/Spurs turns into a slugfest of six or seven...it may not be much of a contest.

I had to leave after the second period; Lillard and Portland were dominating in the first half. I'm glad the Warriors pulled it out in the second half.

I did get to watch the full Heat / Raptors game; it was a good one. Miami ended up winning by 6.

This amazing 3-pointer at the buzzer by Kyle Lowry of the Raptors sent the game into overtime.

What a great fucking shot.
