I have read this a few places now, that he is going to get back in for another 4 years in November. I am afraid to actually write anything now, because there just seems to be such repercussions these days for speaking your mind.

He absolutely could get another 4 years. He lies & cheats, so it will come as no surprise if he succeeds again and the people who have the power to secure our elections refuse to do a damn thing.

Well I am definitely terrified after tonight.
Although I don't think America is in direct danger, but any troops in Iran or Iraq definitely will be. Forgive me for not knowing where our troops are. I am still trying to wrap my head around the recent embassy attacks and the killing of Suleimani.
Why were they attacking the embassy?
I originally thought it was because of Syria, but I am reading something different now.

I read they attacked the Embassy because of all the indiscriminate bombing that are killing ordinary citizens. They want us out of there.

I haven't had a chance to read all the news out there this morning but if what I'm seeing is true I don't think that assassinating a top military commander is looking out for America's best interests. Soleimani is a bad dude, no doubt about it, I'm not defending him at all but this will have repercussions.

No matter what is spoon fed to the masses by the media Iran will always be worse than Trump. Just their human rights policies and their funding of terrorists is enough. Iranian backed Hezbollah attacked the embassy much like they attacked Benghazi and America retaliated against the person that initiated it. The American embassy is an American safe space much like the embassies of other countries in our country is. 

The thing about Iran is they pounce on weakness but respect strength. If they would just become part of the global community they would be better off and I think the people in Iran know this. They have had a taste of peace and prosperity before and many there remember it. 

Trump is not a war monger he does not like war that is good because we need less war in todays world.

Yeah, I too hope this huge escalation was not influenced by election politics.

Waking up to the news that the U.S. assassinated a top Iranian government/military leader without Congressional authorization reminded me of one of Trump's many repeated false and inaccurate claims / predictions in regards to Obama.




Anyway, I don't know how much support the U.S. will be able to solicit from our allies (with the exception of Israel, of course), considering the uncertainty in those relationships under the Trump regime.

I guess we'll have to wait and see whether the assassination turns out to be a plus or minus in terms of U.S. / world security.

The Iranians went lowball and had their minions attack the embassy, they got slapped back. Maybe they will think twice next time. Who knows who would have "leaked" the attack on the General had he gone to congress, it was a military decision to kill him in response, not a full fledged deceleration of war. And yes Trump should not have tweeted that bullshit about Obama but he did. Now he owns it. 
   I think he did the right thing and now security will be beefed up as it should be. Trump has been negotiating with the Iranians at any rate although he will not bow to them and only wants them to do the right thing yet they fund terrorism it's a shame actually when they could be a functioning part of the Middle east and not rule with fear.

I am seeing pictures of celebrations in the streets in Iran and reading about retaliation must be had. I wonder what that will look like.
