Mitch McConnell is calling for an ethics review. I think that's a great idea! Better make sure the President of the United States gets put under review as well given several women are already on record with their accusations. Same standard for everyone, not just some.

Since your boyfriend Bill had his cock sucked in the Oval Office, shot his load on her, and used a cigar in her puss - not to mention the other women Bill allegedly raped, harassed, and had affairs with - Trump is probably in pretty good shape.

Let's be fair though Jim... Bill got impeached.

And to be fairer still, Franken's case was a public publicity still of a hack comic hired to tell bawdy jokes to troops. Gross? Yeah. Unfunny? You bet. But Dane Cook and a thousand other hack comedians do the same shit for good money. Big difference is, Franken is owning his shit like a man whereas the other ones are obfuscating and blaming anyone but themselves.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

Owning it because there’s a picture.

Tweeden says she met with him a few years back, when only he, she and a couple of others knew of the picture, and he didn’t apologize then.

In other words, yes he’s sorry.

Sorry it’s now public.

She actually seems more violated by his unwanted kiss, where he does a tonsil check on her with his tongue, than the picture.

Quite a big difference between something that's between consenting adults and what trump has done but I get that you don't see that.

Please, I'm no trumpkin but I don't think he's done near what Bill has.

FWIW I don't think Paula Jones or Juanita Broaddrick are what you'd call consenting adults.

If he's "owning his shit like a man" he will step down. I doubt he will with 4 years left, but time will tell.

Her husband should be stomping his head into concrete for that shit. And like I said, there will probably be more filing in behind her.

True enough! Trump still has time to match him there.

That's true. I don't think his idiocy merits stepping down IF it's limited to this one case and he's sincerely apologized. I hope there aren't more.

But, if there are other credible accusers lining up behind this first one, I could see Franken being forced to step down.

I've heard a few Democratic leaders say recently that the difference between them and Republican leaders is that they hold offenders accountable and take action.

I think an ethics review is probably a good option in these cases.

For me, there are wide degrees of infractions and inappropriateness in DC, Hollywood, and everywhere else. They don't all merit the same/any punitive action.

Raping someone, using power to sexually harass/assault in the workplace, preying on minors.......all much more serious in my eyes than some other creepy but not illegal actions that happened years ago, especially when the accused owns the past impropriety and expresses sincere regret for lesser infractions.

Victims/accusers can testify in front of the bi-partisan ethics committee and have their voices heard, as can the accused. It would be better if the hearings were in front of a legal judge or arbitrator because it's not a partisan issue, in my opinion. The political affiliations of the victims/accusers and the accused are completely irrelevant. But, that won't happen until statute of limitations are reduced or eliminated across the country.

Anyway, Trump hasn't condemned Republican Roy Moore, who is accused of sexual assault and preying on minors by multiple women. I thought Trump was wise to keep his mouth shut considering he's on tape bragging about forcing himself on someone and claiming he can just grab women by the pussy because he's 'a star', not to mention the fact that there are 12 women waiting for follow-up on their allegations that Trump sexually assaulted them.

Then......................Trump just couldn't resist condemning Democrat Al Franken. Not wise. He's opening the door to have the worse allegations against himself subject to further scrutiny.

Trump wanted everyone to believe Bill Clinton's accusers, but doesn't want anyone to believe Trump's accusers. I listen to all of them and decide who to believe. Republicans shouldn't be treated any differently than Democrats in these situations.

I saw this morning that some Democratic leaders are seriously reflecting on how Bill Clinton's accusers were treated or possibly mis-treated. Bill Clinton can't weigh in on Moore or Trump or Franken without re-opening that door further and neither can Hillary Clinton (without predictable and understandable backlash, in my opinion).

What a mess, on both sides of the aisle.

I'm seeing a lot of people equating it all the same. It's not.

You mean in terms of the degree of seriousness between different inappropriate acts, or do you mean the allegations levied by Trump accusers vs. Clinton accusers?

I haven't heard anyone lump Monica Lewinsky in as a sexual assault victim. She acknowledges that she was not a victim of Bill Clinton, but instead a consenting and enthusiastic adult participant (though she was undoubtedly put through the ringer in the political aftermath).

I just read an article on the New York Times' site. Seems Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Willey and Paul Jones are doing interviews again and saying it's about time people are listening and believing their claims that Bill Clinton sexually assaulted them. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/15/us/po...ebate.html

Sorry, I should have clarified. I'm seeing it said that there is little difference between Franken & Moore in terms of what they did, that they both made unwanted advances towards women. I'm seeing this online only, I haven't encountered anyone in my day to day life who agrees with that any more than I do.

There's a picture of Jerry Seinfield going around that shows him in his late 30's with a much younger girlfriend. Moore is being compared to him. hah

Sorry I misunderstood your original response.

I hadn't heard about that Seinfeld comparison. Figures that false equivalency started with Laura Ingraham.

I remember Seinfeld dated a 17 or 18 year old for a short while, but she was legal age and there's never been any allegations that he assaulted her or was creeping the mall for teens or anything like that.

So, Hillary Clinton weighed in on the current political sexual misconduct allegations.

Speaking to WABC Radio’s Rita Cosby, the former Secretary of State instead pointed the finger at President Trump and embattled GOP Senate nominee Roy Moore — claiming they should be viewed as the real predators, and not Franken.

“Look at the contrast between Al Franken, accepting responsibility, apologizing, and Roy Moore and Donald Trump who have done neither,” Clinton said.

“[That] is the kind of accountability I’m talking about. I don’t hear that from Roy Moore or Donald Trump.”

A former Playboy Playmate came forward this week and accused Franken, a Democrat from Minnesota, of groping her while the two were on a USO tour in 2006. The senator offered his “sincerest apologies” on Thursday, saying he was just trying to be funny.

Franken has inevitably drawn comparisons to Moore and Trump, both of whom have been accused of sexual misconduct.

While speaking to Clinton on Friday, Cosby pressed her on several topics involving the sexual assault during the interview — including allegations made against her husband.

“Every situation has to be judged on its own merit,” Clinton explained after being asked about recent comments made by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, saying former president Bill Clinton should have resigned amid the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

“I don’t know that we can rewrite and revise history,” Clinton added. “I don’t exactly know what [Gillibrand] was trying to say.”

In the interview, Hillary Clinton also said, "There's a double standard: the Republicans deny, deny, deny and divert, divert, divert and they get away with it because the press is more concerned about someone who accepted responsibility than people who refuse to take responsibility."

Clinton also pushed back against Democratic Sen. Kristen Gillibrand, who made headlines earlier this week when she said President Bill Clinton should have stepped down following his sex scandal involving White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

"That was a painful time not only in our marriage but in our country," Clinton said, referring to the impeachment of her husband in 1999. "But it was investigated fully, it was addressed at the time, he was held accountable. That is very different than what people seem to be remembering from that period."

Contrastingly, Clinton was incredulous as to why Trump isn't facing the same scrutiny her husband did. "If you're going to hold people to the same standards, there are a lot of parallels that are not being followed in recent times," she said.

And, Trump, of course, responded by tweet shortly thereafter.

“Crooked Hillary Clinton is the worst (and biggest) loser of all time. She just can’t stop, which is so good for the Republican Party. Hillary, get on with your life and give it another try in three years!” Trump tweeted at 8:31 am this morning.

Do you agree that everyone should be held to the same standard?
