I just finished bagging and boxing the last presents, which seems like a good enough reason to start drinking Blood Marys before 11 am.

Your dad's been in the facility for 6+ months now, it seems.   How's he adjusting Clang?

I'm listening to Christmas carols from the early 60's when my Aunt was a choir director and sang a few leads to some songs it's called 101 angels of song and Notre Dame was rockin back then. It's from a record. And she was a nun. A very big nun. But she had a song that needed to be sung.

I also want to say that if you buy clothes for your other half and you forget what size when you are in the store always buy something 2 sizes smaller than you think would fit. I have learned. And never never never ever buy something that's to big. Some really good advice from my Dad.

Your dad's been in the facility for 6+  months now, it seems.   How's he adjusting Clang?

He's doing great. He's gotten very independent. His main problem is he pees like every hour, he's too healthy, misses his wife that died 5 years ago, and doesn't want to live another year on Earth or the nursing home.

We had a Royal Commission (big investigation) on how our aged care facilities are run, and they are disgusting. All of them. Residents being assaulted, raped, starved, beaten, secret camera footage capturing tip of the iceberg. I am so happy Mum is here with me. She is safe, she is valued she is loved. My training and experience as a nurse has given us the edge. We are so blessed to have Mum another Christmas we do not take it for granted. She has Alzheimer's. I probably have mentioned it before.

Well, that's definitely a mixed bag.

It's really good to hear your dad is doing well physically and gained more independence.  

I'm sorry to hear that his desire to live without your mom isn't stronger though.  That (along with the frequent urination overnight in elderly men) is something I saw a lot in my previous business.   There were a number of clients who'd outlived their spouse and/or an adult child and just wanted to die already -- they needed care, but kinda resented it at the same time.

Anyway, I hope you have a really good visit with your dad Clang.

She insisted it was Air Supply and I kept telling her it was some other cheezy 'A' band.  I won (sort of).

It did. Not like ambrosia but it tasted good with the bourbon. Had a Chinese Buffet for lunch. Never got around to visiting Dad yet. Hopefully this afternoon.

I don't think I could have named the band but they definitely don't sound like Air Supply.  Maybe England Dan and John Ford Coley.
