ASK SALLY ANYTHING
I thought the story was going to end with the mom showing up instead.

Sally, I frequently see women & men making comments like, "I'll have to see if my husband will let me" or "I have to convince my husband (or wife) to let me have that, or do that". Do you ask permission to have something or ask permission to do something? Do any of you?

Sally can't post an answer to you yet Duchess -- she's waiting for her husband to give her the green light.  ')

I don't have to get permission from anyone to do what I want.

But, if it's something that impacts people I care about, I do consider that and ask for input in advance (because I want to, not because I have to).

Sally doesn't seem to be the type that takes any shit from anyone, just sayin.

I'm always a little freaked out by seeing grownups asking for permission to do any damn thing. I can't even get to a place in my head where I would be asking permission to buy a handbag or a car or ask if I can go away for a long weekend. I'm the boss of me. Strangely, when I see men doing it I laugh but when I see a woman doing it I want to shake her.

I don't need permission from anybody to do anything. Sadly, I hate going out by myself so I don't do anything much really.

You have a great social life. You are busy every weekend with your soup strolls, cigar smoking, card playing and boozing with your married friends.

No, but sometimes I hide stuff from him just to avoid listening to his shit. It's always petty stuff, but I just don't want to deal with it. For example I signed up for that Home Chef delivery meal to be sent to my son and his girlfriend for a month for his birthday. They get three meals a week for two people per meal and it's all delivered fresh with the recipe instructions. It seems like something they might like and if it's worth it I might even try it. But if I told my husband about it, he would be like "why are you buying that little fucker anything, he still owes me $500 that he spent on my credit card!". Meh, don't want to hear it.

Oh and the personal trainer for the puppy that I hired is really 2400 not 1200, but why does he have to know? If what he didnt know would kill him he'd be dead long ago.

I know but I wish I got out more during the week or said to my friends more often that I was doing something by myself on a Saturday. Try and make some single friends who don't need permission from the wives to hang out. It's sad, I'm so lazy and I've gotten so used to shopping on Sundays with Ed that I haven't shopped for like a month because I sleep into late and miss Church and so then we don't go shopping. Or its because of the bad weather and don't feel like shopping and I just want to get in my apartment. Dishes are going undone last 2 weeks or so. I really am a hot mess.

I remember posting about it somewhere else, but there was a cheater among us. She brought a whole gang of her senior citizen friends and went around the bowling alley telling everyone to vote for #12 which was hers. I tried it and it tasted like a gross sloppy joe, but she won anyway.

She's probably dead now so you won.
