THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY

trump knows the Republicans are going to lose the House after mid-terms and he's setting the stage to say all the races are rigged. His supporters will believe him.

He's pulling out all the stops.

Last night, President Trump held one of his campaign-style rallies to support a Republican candidate in Nashville.

After a year and a half in office, he's still using the same rhetoric as he did during the 2016 election cycle..............bagging on "Crooked Hillary", blaming illegal immigration on "Cryin' Chuck Schumer" and insisting that Mexico is going to pay for The Wall. This time he added "and Mexico's gonna love it!" Weird.

Anyway, President Pena-Nieto quickly tweeted a response, in both Spanish and English.

He's right ya know, Mexico cannot even support their own people with jobs, welfare or simple tools for farming nevermind a wall. Geez. What is Trump thinking. They are so poor the biggest crop they have is Cocaine and weed. And that's not even regulated by the government nor taxed. They really need to get their shit together.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

The money we don't spend on illegal immigrants will pay for the wall. The WALL is also immigration policy that discourages people from violating our sovereignty.

Some of you are going to be so disappointed. The wall y'all have in mind will never be built.

I wonder if we could get all the trump idiots together for one big giant rally, then build the wall around them? They don't seem smart enough to work a ladder...plus they'd have a wall protecting them from minorities and muslims so they'd probably be fine with it. And the rest of the world would be happy too. Win-win.

I don't understand why some people are so against securing our boarders. In this day, with the number of terroristic attacks we have seen across the world I would think secured boarders would be looked at as a good thing. Will it stop all attacks? Probably not. But just as in the firearm debate, if the attempt saves just one life its worth it. Right . . .

I'm not against border security it all. It would be foolish not to have it. I am against those who come here seeking asylum being treated like criminals and having their children forcibly removed from them.

I support those who come here wanting a better life for themselves and their children. There are others who want to come because they have been bombed out their own country. Those people want a safe place to live their lives and raise their kids. I'm not against that at all. Every time I voice this opinion I have people screaming LIBERAL at me like it's a cuss word.

Our borders are pretty secure already. And we have a number of laws in place addressing immigration. This mythological "brown menace" is simply fearmongering with very little basis in reality. And before BG or anyone else comes in about New Yorkers being oblivious, I say this as a person who lived and traveled extensively in the American southwest and in places where migrant workers were numerous. Many of the so-called dangerous immigrants come here for one reason: to work and send money home to feed their families. Very little data exists to support the fallacy of the criminal immigrant, because most of the criminally inclined have a lot easier time down in Mexico than they do here.

And the jobs the migrant workers take are those that we need them for. Field work, farming and in agriculture and processing. No American will do those jobs. They suck. They pay garbage. And only the most desperate would stand for the working and living conditions.

If they sneak across the border they ARE criminals and should be treated as such. I have no problem with those that come here and gain entry the right way, but sneak across our boarder . . . oh hell no.

Then raise the wages to a livable wage and Americans may want to do them. That would be much better than paying shit wages to someone who sends most of their wages out of the country.

That's already been tried many times F.U. Farms were offering $20+ per hour, performance-based bonuses, and full benefits for field workers. Few unemployed Americans took the jobs because it's grueling manual labor. And, almost all of those Americans who did give it a go didn't last long for the same reason.

There's also a different but related problem now going down mostly in rural America. Manufacturers who need welders and people to operate heavy machinery are sponsoring Syrian refugees because the Syrians don't complain about working long hard hours for a living wage and they live clean lives (according to religious dictate). One of the plant owners I saw interviewed said he tried to put local unemployed Americans to work, but he simply couldn't fill all the jobs because too many locals consistently failed their drug screening tests (safety/liability issue) or they frequently didn't show up to work.

Then there's the problem of increasing the wages to attract more Americans and succeeding, only to have the corporation open more plants in China or Thailand in order capitalize on lower labor costs and avoid tariffs -- as we're seeing with Harley Davidson. I support living wages for all, for sure. But that doesn't mean companies are willing or able to pay them.

As for border security, yes we need it. That's something Republicans, Democrats, and Independents agree upon (same with infrastructure improvements). But, no, "a great big beautiful wall" all across our borders isn't the most cost effective or efficient way to improve upon what we already have in place. The Wall is an old-school and symbolic solution. Plus, Trump's vision would be geographically impossible. Trump's Wall is not even something for which most Republican congresspersons, even solid Trump supporters, are willing to approve funding.

Better and more impenetrable fencing -- so border patrol agents and surveillance could still see what's happening on the other side -- would be cheaper, faster, and more effective, especially in combination with use of drones and other border security technology. And, better immigration policy/law and enforcement would go a hell of a long way too. In my opinion.

It's not 'sneaking' if they cross the border then immediately and proactively approach immigration officials to apply for asylum.

Bad day for Michael Cohen too.

Special master Barbara Jones, in a report to U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood, said her review of thousands of Cohen's seized items included in eight boxes, iPhones and an iPad has identified only .054 percent -- a tiny fraction of one-percent -- as privileged based on claims from Cohen, Trump and the Trump Organization.

Jones’ report echoes prosecutors’ claim that Cohen didn’t have a traditional law practice, and many items would be business records not subject to the attorney-client privilege. Privileged items can also lose their protection if they involve crime or fraud.

Lawyers for Cohen are still processing and making privilege claims to Jones on more than 3.7 million files copied to them by the government from hard drives and other electronic devices, and prosecutors have not yet provided items from a shredder and two Blackberries.

Wood has given Cohen’s team until June 15 to complete their review, and says she plans to let a government team walled off from prosecutors to complete the screening of any remaining items.
