THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY
(01-16-2020, 01:29 AM)HairOfTheDog Wrote: It is some crazy bullshit.  I agree.

However, I haven't seen anything which convinces me that Trump, Giuliani, Parnas, Hyde and the rest of the motley Ukraine crew were conspiring to kill Yovanovitch.

What I have seen documented in texts between Parnas and Hyde......is flat out wrong and would be earthshaking in any previous administration.

The texts and the recent admissions from Giuliani's indicted Ukraine goon Lev Parnas make it clear that Yovanovitch was indeed targeted (for serious political four play, in my opinion).  They successfully conspired and lied to get her removed from her post.

The documents show that Giuliani's ragtag team was following her and discrediting her, though Hyde now claims all those documented surveillance communications were just a joke and Parnas says he didn't take drunkard Hyde seriously.  Meanwhile, Yovanoitch's former boss, Sec of State Pompeo, says jack shit.    Weaselly assholes, all.

Yavonovitch was well known for her anti-corruption agenda and was targeted because she presented an obstacle to Giuliani's corrupt attempt (at the bequest of President Trump, according to both Giuliani and his indicted goon Parnas) to get the Ukranian government to publicly fling shit at the Bidens ahead of this year's presidential election -- which is why Trump was impeached.

But, the GOP-controlled Senate has made it clear they don't care about abuse of power at this time and won't conduct a serious impeachment trial to determine whether the misconduct warrants removal from office.

Anyway, to answer your question Duchess..........I honestly think most Americans have sadly tuned out because there is just so much fucked up shit, day after day in this administration, that it's exhausting.

And, the 40% who support Trump no matter what .... seem to truly revel in the lies and corruption and/or will always just excuse or ignore it because he makes them richer or they see it as 'sticking it to the Dems/Libs'.  That's a short-sighted, dangerous, and petty mindset -- encouraging or allowing the President or other elected officials to ignore or intentionally violate the Constitution fucks over all Americans and chips away at democracy.

I'm always conscious of the fact that I need to have things verified in order to see the truth, I can't just run with something because I want it to be true or I'll run the risk of looking like a republican. There is so much weird shit, a sea of it. I wonder why the Ambassador wasn't simply recalled given they all serve at the pleasure of the president. I wonder why everyone involved says they don't know those thugs and then lo & behold up pop pictures of them all together. I can't even get to a place where I have any confidence this crap will be investigated because our Attorney General is stuck up trump's ass and is in charge of the investigation of Parnas, as far as I can tell every single person associated with this has been lying their ass off.

Where the hell is that POS Pompeo? Not a peep out of that worthless mutha.

I detest them all & I hate what they have done to our standing in the world. Our allies have pulled away from us. I haven't had a chance to read the story yet but I saw a headline saying trump tried to blackmail our allies into standing with him in regards to Iran. I don't want that to be true, I don't want our president to have used blackmail on our friends.

It always bothers me when we hear about some messages and then the next day the report is out that the person is a drunk, those were a joke.

Robert Hyde's messages needs to be dealt with more seriously. His message exchange is unproffesional. You are dealing with a person's life. It isn't funny.

Quote:Hyde said Yovanovitch had turned off her phone and computer, and that his associates in Ukraine would give updates on the ambassador's movements. He added, "They are willing to help if we/you would like a price ... Guess you can do anything in the Ukraine with money ... what I was told."

"Lol," Parnas replied.

Two days later, on March 29, Hyde wrote, "It's confirmed we have a person inside."

Parnas said Wednesday in an interview with Rachel Maddow on MSNBC that he never took Hyde seriously and his replies were intended to mollify him.

Parnas said in the interview that he regretted being part of the chain of events that ended with Yovanovitch being removed as ambassador.

In a a flurry of comments Wednesday, Hyde said he has never been to Kyiv and that the highlighted exchange was all in fun and had been misconstrued.

"How low can liddle Adam Bull Schiff go?" Hyde asked in a posting to both Twitter and Facebook. He later added, "For them to take some texts my buddy's and I wrote back to some dweeb we were playing with that we met a few times while we had a few drinks is definitely laughable."

Yeah, it's definitely not funny nor professional Mirah.  And, it is being investigated.

Ukraine's Interior Ministry, which oversees the police, has announced they are investigating the alleged surveillance and have asked for FBI assistance.

Ukraine's law enforcement has an obligation to investigate the content of the messages released Tuesday because if the Ambassador really was being tracked by these clowns, as Hyde's messages to Parnas claim, it's a violation of Ukraine law and also a violation of international Vienna Convention laws that protect the rights of of diplomats in foreign territories.

Yovanovitch's lawyer has requested investigation as well, and the House of Representatives sent the Parnas/Hyde communications to the Senate as a supplement to the articles of impeachment.

Meanwhile, top Republicans are busy telling the media that they don't support Hyde (an ardent Trump supporter and GOP donor who is running for congress in CT), they don't really know him, and they think he should drop out of the congressional race.

It's fucking shameful that our own State Department and DOJ are silent on this. Our country should have opened an investigation immediately!

Parnas laughed the whole thing off in his interview last night but those communications sounded deadly serious. Hyde might be a raging drunk, that doesn't mean they weren't real threats.

I wonder if Congress has finally realized that all the power they've allowed Trump to take has weakened their positions. Even Trump toadies must be concerned that their jobs are becoming toothless.

Who is that guy that looks like he was in an 80's horror flick the "Sargent of Arms" guy. He kinda looks like he could cripple a person with his stare, making the "jaws of life" necessary.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

This will come as no surprise to anyone reading this, but the president lied. He lied when he said that the Iranian missiles had caused "no casualties, whether they are US coalition, contractors, etc." The reality is nearly a dozen were injured and are being treated for traumatic brain injury. This news got out shortly after it was reported that our Intel agencies asked to give their briefing privately rather than in an open hearing as it's always been done because they didn't want to anger trump like they did last year. Are you fuckin' kiddin' me. They are concerned about making that friggin' snowflake mad. Pathetic.

I just read that Naeima Taheri, the great-granddaughter of Ayatollah Khomeini, and four others, were removed from the flight at the last minute.

Oops Just realized I wrote "political fourplay" in my post upthread.  That was meant to be "political foul play".   Gutter mind, I guess.

Anyway, I still haven't seen anything indicating that the Iranian take down of a Ukrainian passenger plane was anything other than an error, likely due to paranoia over heightened tensions.

At least Iran's President has apologized for the military's seriously fucked up and tragic mistake, and the Iranian people were pissed off enough about their government's delay in accepting responsibility to take to the streets in droves.

When Russian military occupying eastern Ukraine shot down a Malaysian passenger flight in 2014 (which I also believe was likely an error due to heightened tensions)............there was no acceptance of responsibility or apology from the Russian government and they continue to deny it to this day.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malaysia_A..._Flight_17

"Expressing awe over the fact that Musk’s rockets don’t have wings, Trump explained that the United States needs to “protect our geniuses” like Musk.

“We have to protect Thomas Edison—we have to protect all of these people that came up with originally the light bulb, and the wheel, and all of these things, and he’s one of our very smart people,” Trump added. “We want to cherish those people. That’s very important. He’s done a very good job.”"

The Pentagon has finally released some information regarding our soldiers who were hurt the night trump nearly started a war. Thirty four US troops have brain injuries. It's taken weeks to get this info after first being told by the president that there hadn't been any injuries to our people.

More like "they got those injuries weeks before the bombing, it had nothing to do with Trump."

And how will he spin the "Take her out" comments from Trump regarding Yavonovitch?
Was he telling someone to buy her a steak dinner and take her out to ice cream after?

I look forward to hearing the explanation for that too. He has a State Department, they could have helped him facilitate a firing, but instead he told his henchmen.
