THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY
Kathy Griffin is a comedienne (and an annoying one, in my opinon).

She is obviously not the leader of the United States whose job it is to represent all Americans and who sets the tone for the nation.

So, Kathy Griffin's idiocy is not comparable to the President of the United States constantly telling his supporters that his detractors, and his political opponents, and the Democrats, and critical media outlets, and migrants.......... are evil, punch-worthy, enemies of the people etc.

Trump is restrained compared to the violent left. Everyone knows that.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

Nah, everyone doesn't know that Mags. It's just what you and some of Trump's supporters believe and assert. It's your perspective, not a fact.

Here is the letter to trump from the Jewish leaders in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately he's a fuckin' sociopath so it will be meaningless to him. Any well adjusted person would be mortified by this.

President Trump:

Yesterday, a gunman slaughtered 11 Americans during Shabbat morning services. We mourn with the victims’ families and pray for the wounded. Here in Mr. Rogers’ neighborhood, we express gratitude for the first responders and for the outpouring of support from our neighbors near and far. We are committed to healing as a community while we recommit ourselves to repairing our nation.

For the past three years your words and your policies have emboldened a growing white nationalist movement. You yourself called the murderer evil, but yesterday’s violence is the direct culmination of your influence.

President Trump, you are not welcome in Pittsburgh until you fully denounce white nationalism.

Our Jewish community is not the only group you have targeted.  You have also deliberately undermined the safety of people of color, Muslims, LGBTQ people, and people with disabilities. Yesterday’s massacre is not the first act of terror you incited against a minority group in our country.

President Trump, you are not welcome in Pittsburgh until you stop targeting and endangering all minorities.

The murderer’s last public statement invoked the compassionate work of the Jewish refugee service HIAS at the end of a week in which you spread lies and sowed fear about migrant families in Central America. He killed Jews in order to undermine the efforts of all those who find shared humanity with immigrants and refugees.

President Trump, you are not welcome in Pittsburgh until you cease your assault on immigrants and refugees.

The Torah teaches that every human being is made b’tzelem Elohim, in the image of God.

This means all of us.

In our neighbors, Americans, and people worldwide who have reached out to give our community strength, there we find the image of God.  While we cannot speak for all Pittsburghers, or even all Jewish Pittsburghers, we know we speak for a diverse and unified group when we say:

President Trump, you are not welcome in Pittsburgh until you commit yourself to compassionate, democratic policies that recognize the dignity of all of us.

Signed,
Bend the Arc: Pittsburgh Steering Committee

I guess this means Trump is anti-semitic now.

I don't read it as Bend The Arc calling Trump anti-semitic.

I interpet it more as them denouncing Trump's words which they feel empower white nationalists and contribute to a climate of hate/dissent that emboldens white nationalists to perpetrate violence.

Eleven Jewish parishioners were killed by someone who hated them for helping immigrants settle in this country, according to the killer's own words.

Anyway, I understand and respect the words and feelings expressed in the letter. But, I expect Trump won't denounce white nationalism and won't let it go.

He'll instead most likely present himself as a victim of liberal Jews, trot out Jewish people who support him, and blame the media. That would be true to form. I hope he surprises me, but doubt it.

IDK I believe it is the shooters fault completely, nobody else.

The shooter is directly responsible for pulling the trigger. No doubt about it.

That doesn't mean that nobody else contributed to the hateful mindset and should have known better, in my opinion.

If I constantly told my employees that immigrant nurses are evil enemies, funded by Jews, and they were out to steal my employees' jobs in order to endanger the lives of senior citizens across the country............I'd bear some responsibility if one of my employees stabbed an immigrant nurse or a Jewish person because she believed my bullshit rhetoric.

But, I'd never be so irresponsible. The bar for the President should be higher than the bar for the average American in a leadership role, in my view.

And there in lies the rub, he's not the average American! He has to improve 100% to be average! hah

There are crazy and evil people in the world. In their lives they will do crazy and evil things for crazy and evil reasons. Donald Trump is now responsible for their actions because that is completely rational

I'm not saying he's responsible, people make their own decisions, I'm saying he bears some responsibility for inciting some of those people. He's a hatemonger, a fearmonger, he is the president of the United States, one of the role's he should be playing is unifying our country rather than flaming discord, which he does every goddamn time he speaks at his stupid fucking klan rallies.

Any responsible person in a leadership role, especially the leader of a country, should be aware of the power of his/her words and the tone he/she sets. That's Leadership 101.

The President and Sarah Sanders pointing at the media and crying, "not me, you!" is not only predictable, but also contradictory and nonsensical.

On the one hand, Sanders said nobody but the shooter is responsible. On the other hand, she said some journalists bear responsibility (but not the President, whose words the journalists are reporting on).

Trump said something similar about "The world being violent" after he said maybe there would be a different outcome if the church had better protections-what that means to me is "I can't help you, the world is violent, protect yourselves!"

Also it makes me think about the wall even more it is his way of "Protecting himself, his home, his people"

Bearing responsibility is being responsible. Sorry Duchess you are parsing words at this point. I get it. I do. You are very honest in your dislike of him and all things him and do not try to hide your bias but c'mon

"I am not saying he is responsible for it, I am just saying he bears the responsibility"

trump doesn't pull the trigger but he is responsible for inciting the violence. He gets his klan crowd jacked up on his baseless rhetoric every single time he stands before them. He is responsible. Right now he is using his platform to scare Americans into thinking the immigrants are coming to affect their way of life. He tried this shit back in April and now he's sending troops to our border. They can't do any thing other than offer support, it's against the law to use our military to enforce laws in our country. He's wasting a fuck ton of money to try and score political points with his base who don't know any better because they either don't take the time to fact check or they simply don't care to have the right information.

It's funny that the Dems can say or do anything, especially since they have such a violent nature. It's almost as if they have become so untied that now when they yell and scream its as if they have become background noise. Like living next to an airport.
