How is Trump being played and with the knowledge of what Mike Pompeo and Trump and Bolton, et al have talked about behind closed doors what is Trump's actual thoughts and positions on North Korea and Kim?

Seriously? trump helped to establish Kim as a world leader. Kim benefited from how that meeting looked on the world stage, the United States didn't.

Kim met with Pompeo first as CIA Director then as Secretary of State, that's only happened once before many years ago. Again, Kim benefited, the United States didn't.

Kim won a halt to the US-South Korea joint drills, once again Kim benefited, the United States didn't.

Kim got the international media to go to North Korea for a photo op witnessing the destruction of his already defunct nuclear test site, destroying evidence in the process.

trump publicly stated that North Korea is no longer a nuclear threat when nothing could be further from the truth.

There's more but I don't have the time needed to devote to it all.

In addition, as a result of President Trump's legitimization and praising of Kim........South Korea, China, and Russia were all given a green light to ease sanctions and are reportedly in discussions with North Korea about plans that will bring more money into the country.

Lessened tensions between NK and its neighbors is a good thing, in my opinion. Glad to see it. And, bringing more money into North Korea, if it's used to improve the economy for its citizens, is not something to which I object. If the money is simply used to further increase nuclear capabilities and line the pockets of Kim and company, however, it's a big fail.

Economic development was happening under the joint nuclear deal with Iran when Iran met its commitments and sanctions were eased. Of course, Trump pulled the U.S. out of that deal even though it was years in the planning, contained clear goals and timelines, was negotiated with Iran and international partners, and (most importantly) included site inspections/verifications in Iran -- none of which has been accomplished when it comes to our dealings with North Korea.

...and he's still doing it. He told the world he believes Kim's denials about not knowing about Otto! Otto's parents were put in the position of again having to speak publicly about their son's torture and murder by that evil bastard. That cocksucka trump praised Kim, he considered it an honor to be meeting with him. Jesus Christ.

Weren't the parent's Trump's "guests" at his state of the union?  Nothing like using grieving parents as props.

This isn't exactly new info but:

Trump had an idea about how to counter the nuclear threat posed by North Korea, which he got after speaking to Russian President Vladimir Putin: If the U.S. stopped joint military exercises with the South Koreans, it could help moderate Kim Jong Un’s behavior.

So we've got Trump ignoring the intelligence community, his Secretary of State, his military leaders and the government of South Korea and following the directions of Putin.  And that doesn't seem to bother anyone in the Republican party or the nimrods that support him here.  Jesus Christ on a pogo stick.

What does it matter when the president of the United States aligns himself with a despot? Is that your question?

No and only the truly stupid REALLY think this and I do not believe that you are in that category. Frankly I think your animus towards Trump extends ideologically to all he touches and all he thinks and all who know him. That is both dishonest and stupid.

Only a fool would imagine that the missile launched from North Korea at US and the crisis of what happens when they reach (which was happening every 24 days under President Obama) was intrinsically a good thing. YOU do not think so because you are not a fool.

Only a fool would think that the diplomatic measure in the past from US leaders was successful with the Kim family? YOU do not think so because you are not a fool.

Only a fool would think that the path to denuclearisation was closer in previous governments than now. YOU do not think that because you are not a fool.

Only a fool would have believed the easing of potential threat between South Korea and North Korea is closer in previous US Administrations. YOU do not believe that because you are not a fool.

Only a fool would think that Otto Warmier was successfully bought back home by any US President other than Donald Trump and that any other President other than Trump. YOU do not think this because you are not a fool.

Only a fool would believe that President Trump did not care for US citizens being interned by North Korea after heavily petitioning and negotiating for their release (especially given that some of them were not afford that opportunity with the Obama Administration). YOU do not believe that because you are not a fool.

However, you DO foolishly allow the cognitive dissonance to override this rational facts at a whim and I do not know whether you just do it to "say mean things about Trump", and make yourself feel better, or on some emotional level you drive yourself to kind of believe the bullshit you spew because if everything he knows, believes, cares about, or people who love and care about him, can't all be condemned 24/7, then maybe he is not the complete monster you want him to be and your TDS can not allow that.

Everything HAS to be poisoned by him or by association with him. It is a REALLLLLLLY stupid and dishonest position and really not worth anyone investing time in.

I do not know which it is. Interested to know actually.
