So I live in a tourist town

I'm not surprised at all.

I wish I could still smoke it. Fucking addictive personality, I stay away from all substances. But sex is not a substance!
(I talk about sex here way more than I actually think about it any other time of the day okay)

@Dono, that is what we have here, rich boaters. One of my first jobs here was at a boat storage place. Most of the customers were pretty stuck up.

Pot is not generally my thing, I was mostly a stimulant guy because the way it reacted to my hyperactivity was glorious. But a few times in my life when stress was a bit over the top, I tended to use the hippie lettuce as a coping mechanism. Truthfully, I never had what could be termed an addictive personality with any drugs or mindbending substances. I thought they were useful tools. Most boring druggie ever.

Boaters as a group are quite snobby generally. Way worse than RV crowd or the campsite peeps. There were individual exceptions of course...but overall they were the least cooperative and friendly of anyone I dealt with.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

It has definitely been an interesting weekend so far. I have stayed out of most of the crowd, but yesterday my friend and I ventured right into the center of where one of the biggest groups of people were. Sooooo many college students. Soooo many butt cheeks. That is a thing now eh? I had no idea! Wow.
And so many cops.
I heard someone say 80 are brought in for this weekend. I saw some from as far as Phoenix. I am sure they are just so sad to have to be here amongst all of the partying. (I don't know how they feel really-I am making a total judgement call-plus I didn't see any female cops.)

When we went to Universal Studios I had to take my daughter on all the rides while my husband sat in the shade drinking beer and looking at butt cheeks. Every high school/ college aged girl had their asses hanging out, even the fat out of shape ones. They had no shame.

I got my flag out and I'll thank a veteran on Veteran's day when it's appropriate. Of course, since Trump dodged the draft five times he can go fuck himself.

No, today is for those who sacrificed everything in war. I dont mean the dead, dying in battle is easy. I reserve my thoughts for those who REALLY sacrificed everything: the ones who went to war whole and strong, and came back broken, maimed, disabled and unable to function. The ones who suddenly found themselves ignored or maltreated or cut off from needed services because their usefulness was at an end and it was not politically expedient to care for them. The ones who elected to chew a bullet because it seemed less painful than trying to coexist with the horrors and pain in their mind and body. The broken toy soldiers you and your ilk dont like to think about when you cheer warmongers who never touched a fucking gun to kill or be killed. The ones who managed to successfully fight the good fight, beat back tyranny and evil and Nazi aggression in the Greatest generation, only to watch in helpless horror as their children elected those same sons of bitches.

Happy memorial day. Now try using your memory.

Did I say 12,000? Did I mean 20,000? I'm not even sure.

This weekend is what Memorial Day weekend was supposed to be like this year if we had better weather on those days. Now everyone has made up for it. I tried to get across town today, just 2 miles, should only be about 8 minutes, it took over a 12 hour to get around the idiots.

I never made it to the store to buy anything special for the 4th so I'm stuck eating whatever I have, but thats fine, I won't starve.

I can't wait until they all go home.
