I visited the farm where my eggs come from
#1
It is pretty cool.
They are friends of mine, and they sell to the local stores and restaurants. They also use compost from these places to feed their chickens. It is a perfect circle.

I'm a big fan of re-using things. I have a compost pile that gives me about 6 wheelbarrows of good stuff to mix into my gardens. I don't use pesticides and make my own weed killer.
12 cup epsom salt
1-quart of vineger
2-tablespoons of Dawn soap (couple squirts)

I like farms that re-use things. Most small farms do, it saves money and cuts down on the overhead. Many small places sell to Farmers Markets or set up themselves if they have the people, usually a family member that works very cheaply. Some that have animals are self sustaining.

That is awesome Maggot.

They are mostly self sustaining, they don't have a cow for milk or cheese or fun stuff like that, but they get most of their stuff from their garden or trades.

I understand the appeal of that. Most of the food I buy comes from the Amish market. I like knowing the people & the farms where the food comes from.

I never used to pay attention to food until I once saw a sign at the meat counter in a regular grocery story and it gave information about antibiotics in the meat. I was so skeeved.

Food co-ops are great you can trade services for food. Install an AC unit and get a pig and some steak.

Its not getting any better!

Have you heard about the controversial movie titled "Show Dogs"? I should start a new thread, but I don't have kids, so I won't.
Apparently there are scenes where this dogs genitals are being touched (For the judging/showing) and he tells himself to go to his "Happy Place". Parents are upset and say this movie is grooming children.

It does sound pretty creepy actually.

They are a little bigger and the yolks are big too. I think they taste the same and the professor says they make a fluffier cake.
