You gonna stake a  'Gavin Newsom for Governor' sign in your front yard, Biggie?  ')

I don't think Cox has a chance, but he's polling better than I thought he would at 32% (average since June).

Neither Newsom or Cox mentioned Trump until about 50 minutes into their 1-hour debate, though Cox is endorsed by Trump.

California is definitely not a state where it makes sense for statewide Republican candidates to go the Trump-clone route.

President Trump wrote an Op-ed piece for USA Today. USA Today reportedly has the largest circulation of any paper in the U.S.

Unfortunately, the Op-ed is filled with false claims and rhetoric -- much of it aimed at scaring senior citizens in regards to healthcare reform options under exploration by Democrats and Independents.

Healthcare is a big vulnerability for Republicans up for reelection in November and seniors are a key demographic of Trump's core base.

In the Op-ed Trump claims that a future Medicare For All (aka universal health care / single-payer) plan would rob seniors of their Medicare, which makes no sense whatsoever.

Medicare For All would, as the name obviously entails, expand Medicare coverage to include people other than senior citizens and increase its benefits to seniors as well.

Trump also claims that the Republicans are fighting to save coverage for pre-existing conditions.

However, the administration is supporting a lawsuit that seeks to relieve insurance companies from providing it, and the failed Republican Obamacare replacement options reduced pre-existing condition coverage.

It's, of course, fair game for Trump and company to make legitimate arguments against a single-payer healthcare system (which, as an aside, Trump himself supported prior to running for President as a Republican).

However, it's really hitting a new low to lie blatantly about something so crucial to seniors and almost all citizens for short-term political gain, in my opinion.

I very much hope the Democrats are developing ads that call out the lies in the Op-ed, correct the record, and focus on their plans to protect people's existing healthcare while moving towards future improvements (which undoubtedly would require a lot of hard work and cost analysis prior to implementation, that much is true).

I was reading a little about that. I think it was irresponsible of them to run it. It's fiction.

Unbelievable! Can't believe the Donald met with his "Latest Advisor" Rapper Kanye West today!!!

The "advisor" told the POTUS why he supports the Republicans. Starting with him wearing the MAGA hat, that he said it
made him feel like Superman !

West advised Trump spanning topics from his mental health, to prison reform, to what kind of plane Trump should fly in.

Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown, the President’s daughter and adviser, Ivanka Trump, and her husband and White House adviser Jared Kushner, were also in attendance.

“He’s been a terrific guy,” Trump told reporters of West Tuesday afternoon on the White House South Lawn before departing for Iowa. “You know, he loves what we’re doing for African-American jobs, for so many different things.

Median income, as you see, is at an all-time high. Poverty level at the lowest rate so far.
And Kanye is a smart guy Trump said”

West recently made waves by wearing Trump’s signature “Make America Great Again” hat during an appearance on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” show .

West has previously said he would consider a presidential run in the future, and said to a crowd in San Jose
in 2016 that he didn’t vote in the election, but “would have voted for Trump.”

That bit about making waves on SNL with his MAGA hat... Pete Davidson said Kanye wore it all week and no one said anything to him about wearing it on the show. < eye roll gif >

How fucking hard is it for people to stop and think "wait, it says "for all" That doesn't make sense"? Trump burps out the most asinine comments and even the media doesn't question him about it.

USA Today issued a response to complaints about the falsehoods in the Op-ed not long after it was released. The Editor explained that the normal fact-check was performed prior to publication and they give a lot of leeway for opinions.

Diversity of opinions is great, political and otherwise. That's not a problem. The problem is that much of the piece was easily proven to be factually false.

Then, a few hours later, USA Today released an article fact-checking its own Op-ed. Their fact-check calls out several false and misleading claims made by President Trump (the USA Today fact-check piece is the third reference link in my post above).

USA Today has also updated the original Op-ed with hyper links to other fact-check sources.

Maybe the original release was all about the money associated with selling papers and attracting site hits, rather than journalistic integrity.

Now, it looks to me like USA Today is trying to have it both ways. But, not everybody who read the original piece will see the fact-check.

Kid Rock was at the white house yesterday signing some thing for a charity or the like and an idiot reporter kept screaming "Should Trump fire Sessions" over and over. The Kid looks at them and says, no he should fucking fire YOU. hahahahaha

I watched a clip of the Kanye shitshow at the White House.  He seemed mentally unwell, again, like he's gone off his medication.

That behavior wasn't a result of  'sleep deprivation', in my opinion.  It was sad to watch.

I guess Trump and company believe touting his support and putting him on full display at the White House can help them attract more black voters.  Maybe they're right, I don't know.

Anyway, Kanye says he is serious about running for President and was highly offended that people thought he was joking about that.

I wish it was a joke.  And, I wish it didn't now seem possible to me that this country could actually elect Ye for President.

CNN said he was "mentally ill" and a "token negro" as they laughed. Is Taylor Swift "mentally unhinged"/?   Don't fall for the left narrative. The racist talk by CNN is despicable. Race has nothing to this or Mental unhingement. he does not fit the black narrative so he will be attacked but it will not be good when it gets out color means nothing.

The dems are afraid and the cracks are showing.

I don't care what CNN said Mags, and Kanye is free to openly support whomever he wants politically.

While she's never appeared mentally unwell when I've seen and heard her (which is very little), I don't care about Taylor Swift's politics either.

If you watched Ye in the White House yesterday and don't think he seems mentally unwell, okay. I watched it and MY personal opinion is that he's not mentally well.

He's been hospitalized for mental illness and diagnosed as bi-polar. He seemed healthier after getting diagnosed and treated.

Now it appears he's gone off his medication and is self-diagnosing. I've seen that with a couple of bi-polar clients. It's a roller coaster and often self-destructive.

I wouldn't hitch my wagon to Kanye West for any reason. He's too erratic. Again, that's just my personal opinion.

I'm not a fan of his music but he is 100% correct about the Dems putting blacks under their thumbs relying on welfare. The violent left with their mob mentality will be getting worse as the mid terms get closer. It's just an observation that more people are seeing.

Hopefully more people will get out and vote because of it.

Well look at it, they are not just belittling him because he supports Trump they are belittling him because he is "black" and supports Trump. As if race should have anything to do with it. It makes the left look smug in thinking they own the black population who should not have a mind of their own or the ability to make a choice.

Is it racist when a Black woman said it? I think not. I hope Maggot doesn't break his pearl necklace from clutching it too hard.

Because a black woman said it makes it "not" racist? Seriously it makes no difference at all. Are you all there?
