ADOPTION

Do same sex couples have as much right to adoption as traditional male/female couples do?

That is because you make dumbass replies.

What about single parent adoptions? Do they have the same rights? I hope the laws are what is best for a child, and not what is best for the couple.
To be a feminist is simply to believe that everybody should be treated equally, regardless of sex. It means you think that there should be equality of the sexes economically, socially, politically and personally. When you put it like that, it’s surely difficult for anybody to deny being a feminist. But for such a simple concept, it is often dramatically misunderstood.

Thanks for including that. I regret that I didn't think to.

Well I regret some of my early religious teaching that tells me it would be wrong for same sex parents to adopt.
I know people think it is wrong. And I hate that.

I also hate that people think traditional m/ f partnership is more healthy. I know of people who suffered abuse from their adopted parent. ( After the father passed away)

I would love very to adopt some day, but I would probably need a partner, which I am not against.

It takes a village. I need a village!

I'd rather stay in the orphanage than be adopted by a couple of queers or dykes.

But they have the right as much as anyone, I feel sorry for the little bastard that gets chosen though.

Do agree with Sally that SSC's have the right to adopt. But I also feel sorry the the little bastard/bitch.

Since the little bastard (or bitch) will most likely be a product of their environment, the likely hood of a straight kid, would turn out to be "confused" to say the least. And could turn out gay.

I personally think that gay people are a product of nature and not nurture so it's not that I think the kid would turn out gay. It's just that gay people are so fucking annoying, the last thing I'd want is to be adopted by them. Can you imagine those fuckers picking you up from school?

I don't understand why anyone would want children. Adoption increases the likelihood of even more problems. If a couple want to adopt I see little difference if the couple are a same sex couple. The important element is love.

I was just joking, I don't care who adopts kids as long as they don't abuse them. I still wouldn't want these two as my parents, just saying...

Now if you owned a farm and needed help, adoption makes sense.

But today's lifestyle leaves little room for kids.

I could see you being cool with gay parents (especially two dads).

If I was stuck in the orphanage, I'd act weird in front of the hetero couples and perfect in front of the homosexual ones. Think about it.

-- Hetero couples who adopt kids usually can't have biological kids, despite years of trying. And, sometimes they blame each other and go through a lot of heartache. Not so with gay couples.

--Gay couples are typically more financially secure.

--Gay couples are less likely to jam religious indoctrination down a kid's throat.

HOTDog, Here is an orphanage with high hopes of doing just what you suggest. I think it's near MWS.

Yeah but they're good looking and wealthy. What if you get stuck with these two dipshits?

^ I'd take 'em.

They look like nice enough people and seem to love each other.

Plus, my new two dads could use a female's touch in their lives. Even the Christmas Tree at the orphanage is better than their sorry twig with balls.

One of the most attractive men I've ever seen was the bartender at a gay bar I talked my husband into going to while on vacation in Key West. I don't know if he was gay or not, but I imagine he was since he was working at a gay bar and all. He had me drooling like a love sick school girl.
