Yeah, Craigslist is sketchy af. I already made inquiries into 2 apartments in Albany. One of which would be perfect as its a 12 minute walk from work.

Thank God the utility bills are in my name so it should just require a few phone calls to switch services to the new place. My brother Ed is freaking out because his free ride is almost over.

Good. He needs to freak out, maybe this is the kick in the ass he needed to grow up. You've been busy holding down a job and helping to support him while he did nothing. He could have done a lot to help your father and he choose not to. He plays a big role in the situation he now finds himself in. If he tries to blame any of this on you, punch him right in the face.

Thank you for those words to Clang Duchess. Clang, sorry to hear this, just reading that last post, I think I need to get caught up. Hope your dad is okay. And I hope you find a nice place to live where you are comfortable and you can be yourself and the only person you have to worry about is yourself.

Reckon you have probably done enough, Clang.
Find a place you can manage by yourself. Get used to being independent and alone. Hell, no people in the house will allow you to be as freaky as you want to be. Call it liberation.
It is not selfish to want to feed your soul. It will make you a better support and a better ally for your family. It will help you grow as a person too.

He's his college friend's/poker buddy's problem now. He offered to let Ed sleep in the garage/mancave. I don't think he knows what he is getting himself into. I hope they force Ed to get a job or get disability and not coddle him like Dad and I did. My second oldest brother (John) told him to contact social services and tell them he has no place to live. He doesn't blame me, he blames our oldest brother(Jim) for "forcing" Dad into a nursing home.

I hope you all are ready for Clang Unleashed. Mirah met him online in 2007/2008, but this time he's going to be older, wilder, and weirder. Thank you everyone for your kindness and encouragement.

I'm very fond of you, Clang, I always have been. I think you're a lovely, deserving individual and it's my hope that you use this time to put yourself first and do what makes you happy. Get yourself a cute little apartment, don't share your key with anyone and live the way you have wanted to.

Should I be worried that the 2 apartments I messaged last night haven't gotten back to me yet? I probably need to look into a few more, right?

Yes, you should. Make a list of all that interest you and contact them all. When or if you don't hear back, follow up and be persistent.

I wouldn't read too much into not hearing back yet given it was only last night. I'd give them 48 hrs. at least.

I wish you much luck. May the force be with you.   Blowing-kisses

I'm going to need more than luck, I'm going to need a goddamn miracle. My oldest brother Jim doesn't think I'll have money to rent an apartment for months...that may be true but I can't afford the $950 rent by myself next month either. Plus it took 3 months to find this craptastic apartment, but I don't have that amount I have about 3 weeks maybe less.

I hope your dad gets placed in a good nursing home Clang.  Visit him often so you know he's being cared for properly and the staff knows his family comes around regularly and unannounced.

Crossing my fingers you find a good place soon.

There used to be rooms for rent around here all the time.  If it's the same in your area, maybe you can do that for a few months til you get  your own place (unless you have too much stuff you can't live without).

Me too. I'm trying to get a 1 bedroom apartment right here in Watervliet. It's not that far from where I am now and it would be closer to the local supermarket. It would make moving all my stuff alot easier.

The land lord has to go through an eviction process to get you out, its not like he can just throw you out on the day rent is due. If you dont find a place by the time rent is due, just tell him your situation and that you are sorry and trying to find a place asap.

Where the fuck is he going to put it? It's hard enough being homeless, much less having to carry around 27 pounds of macaroni and cheese with you.
