Taking away an honor from soldiers that were told to do what they did is wrong. The blame is on the officers and the upper end of the military that told their subordinates what to do. If the soldiers had refused the orders be it one or more they would have been shot for insubordination. They still engaged in battle as they were told and are not to blame for the decisions made by the officers. Taking away any honor from the actual combatants is a disservice towards any soldier in war.
