More details

Heidi and her baby were believed to make it back to the family's apartment in Austin after dropping her son off at school last Thursday morning.

Last night, Heidi's body was found (reportedly in the trunk of a car belonging to one of her friends) at the Houston home pictured below and the baby was found alive inside that home.

It's being reported that Heidi's body and her healthy baby daughter Margot were discovered after someone, who has not been identified, placed a call to Child Protective Services (CPS).

Suspect Arrest / Apparent Motive

A car at the home where Heidi's body was found and baby Margot was recovered is registered to Megan Rose Fieramusca, who is currently listed as being in custody at the Harris County Jail.

Police records from Harris County say Fieramusca was arrested today by Austin Police Department (APD) on two counts of kidnapping and tampering with evidence (a human corpse).  She is being held on $600,000 bond.

According to various reporters' tweets and articles, the suspect has known Heidi for many many years and police suspect she was plotting to take Heidi's baby before Margot was even born.  Police believe others may have been involved in the plot as well.

Neighbors of Fieramusca and her boyfriend indicated that the couple had been trying to have a baby and seems now like Fieramusca had faked her pregnancy.

It's terrible.  Not only a friend, but reportedly a very long term and dear friend.

The suspect is not one of the friends who I'd seen give interviews over the last week; I'd never seen or heard of her before now.

P.S. No need to eat crow  Smiley_emoticons_smile.     Shane Carey was inconsistent in some of the details he provided, his demeanor was strange, and his word choices/actions were odd.   Plus, statistically speaking, as the significant other, he was the mostly likely suspect.  Now, it seems (and I hope) he may just have been worried sick, struggling to hold it together, and/or LE told him some details that he was not allowed to reveal publicly.

There will be a press conference today at 2pm CT.  Hopefully, LE will share new details at that time.

She looks creepy.

There are so many couples out there who want their own baby more than pretty much anything but they aren't out there murdering their friends or neighbors to get one. This shit freaks me out.

She does look creepy, this story reminds me of a movie you'd see on the Life Time channel.

I wonder if the father was in on it with her. My first thought was that he seemed weird, but the time frame from when he got off work didn't match with him doing it so maybe someone else was on it.

I'm not thinking the fiance/father was in on it at this point, but that's still a possibility.

LE didn't comment one way or another about possible accomplices at today's press conference, other than to say they were not ruling out more arrests.

Since the investigation is still ongoing, LE declined to even confirm the name of the female suspect who's been charged with two counts of kidnapping and tampering with a corpse (though it's confirmed in publicly available court records).

I think Austin PD is just being careful and very tight-lipped right now so they can't be accused by a defense attorney of tunnel vision or tainting the jury pool or anything of that nature during trial, which is smart.

So, did the female suspect have help from someone?

It's kinda hard to imagine she could lift a dead body into the trunk by herself, however she does look big and tough, and she was obviously determined. Here's the mugshot from today's arrest.

It's also possible she forced Heidi to get into the trunk.

If she did have help, why hadn't the body been disposed of?  It was in the trunk of her car right outside her house where she was keeping the baby.

Anyway, the suspect reportedly lived with a partner / boyfriend at the house near Houston.  It's hard to believe that he wouldn't have known that the suspect wasn't really pregnant and that baby Margot wasn't really her's.

Then again, I've followed a couple of cases where women convinced their partners and families that they were pregnant for 9 months and then ripped a fetus from a heavily pregnant woman and successfully fooled their loved ones (for a while).

In any case, I agree that this whole sad incident seems like something straight out of a Lifetime movie.

More about the Suspect - Magen Fieramusca, aka Maygen Humphreys, aka Magen Humphreys

She reported working as a wedding coordinator for the last eight years.

She was charged with stealing $5,000 from an employer in 2018, but she was released when prosecutors didn't feel they had enough evidence for a conviction.

Her partner and the owner of the house near Houston (in Jersey Village) is named Christopher Green.

She had baby registries on Amazon, Target and other sites -- the due date she listed was the same as Heidi's.

Heidi referred to the suspect Magen as her 'best friend'.  :(

Mutual friends of Heidi and Magen's say that suspect Magen, along with Shane Carey, were in the delivery room when Heidi gave birth to Margot (Magen renamed the baby Luna Mae after she kidnapped her).

COD / MOD Determined

The ME for Harris County Texas has positively confirmed that the body recovered last night is that of Heidi Broussard.

The ME determined that the Cause of Death was ligature strangulation and the Manner of Death was homicide.

I haven't seen an estimated Time of Death yet.  I'm curious to know if Heidi was killed right away or not.  Her body was recovered 7 days after she was reported missing.

She does look creepy in both mugshots. She didn't used to look creepy.

^ Heidi with her suspected killer Magen Fieramusca (MF) in 2013.

I wonder what made MF go so far off the deep-end that she was (allegedly) willing and able to kill someone she'd been friends with since childhood church camp.

It's all so creepy.

Man. Friends since they were kids! Best friends! According to everything I've ever read about strangulation, it takes a few minutes. It's up close and personal. It's a horror show. Ugh. She was even in the delivery room. This is all so vile.

Yeah, it's truly a nightmare scenario, especially for Heidi's family and friends.

They had all known MF well for many years and never suspected a thing.  The level of betrayal, on top of the terrible loss of Heidi, has got to be extremely difficult to process.

Here are some case updates from the last few days:

1.  LE obtained video of Heidi willingly getting into MF's vehicle at her (Heidi's) apartment complex the day Heidi and Margot went missing.  LE hasn't indicated when they got a hold of that video or any other details.

2.  LE has not revealed whether MF was driving her own silver sedan or her boyfriend's black SUV at the time (both vehicles were at the home in Houston where MF was arrested).

3.  Heidi's friends (also friendly with MF) have been interviewed and say that MF was in frequent phone contact with them after Heidi and Margot were reported missing.  They were shocked to find out the suspect was MF.

4. MF inserted herself deeply in the case and said she was sick over it.  One of Heidi's friends heard a baby crying in the background on the phone, which MF told her was her tired newborn baby Luna Mae.

5.  Baby Margot is in CPS custody awaiting DNA test results to prove that she is not MF's (imaginary) daughter.  MF insists that the baby found in a swing at her residence is her daughter Luna Mae.

6.  Heidi's mom confirmed that Heidi and Shane's six year old boy is with her for the time being.  They will be having Christmas together with Shane and his dad Ty.

7.  Early on, MF told Texas Equusearch founder Tim Miller that LE had contacted her.  She said LE told her she was probably the last person to communicate with Heidi as Heidi had called her and they talked about breastfeeding the morning Heidi went missing.

She also told Miller that she thought Heidi's fiance and Margot's father Shane Carey was behind whatever happened to them.  She provided a lot of details about their rocky relationship, alleged abuse, etc for 45 minutes.

Even Miller, who's worked in partnership on a lot of high-profile cases with LE, said that he was shocked to find out MF was the suspect arrested.

8.  One of MF's close friends from 2015 to 2017 (when he moved from Houston) was interviewed last night on Jay is for Justice podcast.  He (Jake) said that he was shocked when he saw MF's mugshot last week -- didn't look anything like the MF he knew.

Jake was a co-worker of MF's at the payday loan company (from which she was later fired for alleged stealing) and hung out with her 2 or 3 times a week for a couple of years.

Jake said:

-- He had been to to the house where MF was arrested several times and had met Heidi in passing twice; they acted like sisters.
-- MF had told him that she wasn't interested in having children and never expressed any interest in having a baby.
-- MF was always positive and upbeat, consistent in appearance (looked like the 2018 mugshot, less the buggy eyes), helped anyone who needed it, came from a very large family, did wedding and party planning on the side, threw him a great 21st birthday party at her condo (she was living in the condo and the Houston home in parallel), never seemed to get angry or riled, liked marijuana, liked to party but didn't drink a whole lot.
--MF had been dating Christoper Green (who owns the Houston house MF was living in) for about 6 months before Jake moved -- they seemed like a normal couple.
--MF and Green did coke in front of him at Green's house the last couple times he hung out there.
--MF was just a fun normal person the whole time he knew and hung out with her.
