2020 fishing report
#1
I went landlocked Salmon fishing today at the big lake and didn't catch anything just a few nibbles. It needs to get above 50 and there was still ice on the lake. Not a ton and not near the shore. I was in the channel.

It was but it's the first time i went out this year so I wasn't on my total relaxing game yet. My tackle box wasn't up to snuff and my shoes got wet but the next time out will be better. It usually is.

This is such a great time of year to be out in nature. Everything is waking up, it's fresh & beautiful and no biting flies!

Love is in the air too. Buzzards were having sex on my chimney.  50

I hope that is not an euphemism, but only a little.

I caught 5 trout today 2 brown and 3 rainbow. The Brown were not native with the red dot but were stocks. Each one about 8-9" long and good enough to clean and get ready for a breakfast in the morning.  Smiley_emoticons_biggrin It was a good day. My son got two but he was skittish and they got away.

Open faced, my son has a Zebco closed face because he keeps getting caught in the trees. It's old but works good. Just press the button and it fly's.

Yeah so do I, plenty of fresh water reels and poles maybe 20. I don't have many salt water setups and have been wanting to get a few more. Fishing for Stripers or sea Bass come to mind. Mine is old and I need a new setup.

Yeah I like getting out before 6am have a coffee sitting listening to the birds and the occasional animal crashing around in the brush. One of these days a bear will come out and try to get my fish. He could have them. I share.

Early morning is my favorite time of day. I suck as a night owl.

i went fishing today up in Pennacook, after, I went to Bear Brook. It was great! I caught 2 trout ( brooky's 8" long) and a couple of 8-9" native and rainbow in Bear Brook. I didn't keep any and just went to get out. I never use trout worms...........they are small and suck to get on a hook, but did this time and it worked!. Super surprised at that as usually I just break apart medium crawlers and use that. But I think tomorrow I will save the fish and cook-em the next day or later that day. Trout are good and I just cut the heads off,gut them, fin them and stick them in the pan.  Blowing-kisses That's today's report.

Yeah,  no.    I'll skip the gutting,   but have no trouble frying them up in a pan.

I'm going fishing for Haddock and Pollock Sunday. I have to check the weather reports and if it OK I'm going. I just talked to the guy that owns the boat and told him no Mackerel, fuck that. He said he's going to the shelf not the island.  89

Something a lot of people don't know, Mackerel is disgusting when cooked but it is one of the most delicious fish when eaten raw as sashimi or sushi. I'd take it and make a nice poke bowl with ponzu sauce. Freeze your fresh mackerel raw for four hours to kill parasites and then let it thaw and slice raw and dipped in some ponzu. You'll never see mackerel the same again.

I'll pass on that I don't like Sushi either.
