JOGGING WHILE BLACK

That's what I heard. I look forward to reading about the press conference and seeing the details of what they have.

Since it's an ongoing investigation, GBI didn't reveal too much new detail.  However, the agency did confirm a couple of things and referenced the arrest warrants for William "Roddie" Bryan.

Here's a recap of this morning's press conference and related statements:

The GBI Director thanked Ahmaud Arbery's family for their patience.

One of the arrest warrant states that Roddie Bryan (^ mugshot) used his vehicle “on multiple occasions” between 1 and 1:20 p.m. on Feb. 23, the day of Abery’s death, “with the intention of confining and detaining” him.

Another warrant states “the accused did cause the death of another, Ahmaud Arbery, during the commission of a felony, to wit Criminal attempt to commit False Imprisonment in violation of the Official Code of Georgia.”

Bryan’s attorney earlier this week claimed his client had taken a polygraph test confirming he was not involved in the shooting (results unknown and not admissible in court in any case).

Attorneys for Arbery’s parents said the family was relieved to learn of Bryan’s arrest, which they felt was warranted from the start of the case.

The FBI is now investigating this as a possible hate crime. Good!

That footage got played over here on the news over and over, because over here in Oz it would be an open and shut case, there would be no debating it. And it wouldn't have taken so long either.

The Arbery murder really took a back burner to Floyd.

What was he doing going into that property that was under construction? I wouldn't have gone in there. It still doesn't give them an excuse to kill the bloke. At least detain him, but there was clearly some devaluing human life.

The guy was a punk.

He was trespassing and he shouldn't have gone in there. I don't know if you are a parent Mark, but I am. If my child was doing something like that or any of her mates, there would be consequences. A grown man doing it, he was committing a crime, he could have been detained. I think though those guys were looking for an excuse to exact violence that was inside them on someone, and if he hadn't gone in there he would still be alive today. The meeting of two wrongs not making a right.

Maybe he was interested in the design and just wanted to check it out. I've walked into new construction homes before and nobody killed me.

Yeh but Sally, that doesn't mean you should have been there, you are welcome to go and check it out, but with the owners permission. As for them lying in wait and killing him, it looks like they were looking for an excuse. If he wasn't in there, they wouldn't have had a leg to stand on. Now they are using that as a defense.

He failed the attitude test.

Without all the silliness we have all done things that we regret right? He was a young man, who didn't deserve to be set on by a pack of wolves. That's why the world is watching on in horror, that people of color or extra melanin in their skin are being set upon by wild animals.

I too have walked into new construction homes down the road from where I lived. They are often open. No signs saying "Do not trespass" I assume they want people, especially potential buyers to take a look if they can.

I don't think any construction site would be willing to accept anyone rummaging around and just "checking things out" at the end of the day they just want to come back the next day with nobody fucking with their shit. You just cannot secure it unless you live in the city where you have to put up a chain link fence and lock it every night. I've seen that happen and it gets old having to put every thing away every night.

He should have just thought " This ain't my shit, I better not fuck with it" It's simple if it's not your's stay away.

But it's not a wanted dead or alive poster either.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

I'm not talking about fucking with shit or stealing anything and usually everything is put away anyway. I guess I have taken my cue from my uncles who were in construction and used to do the same thing.

And yes it is not a thing to kill somone over. Also-the killers did not know where he was before he ran by their porch.

Yes exactly. I went and looked at a couple across the street from my BIL's house. Not to do any mischief, just checking it out.

A special prosecutor for the state of Georgia said Thursday that evidence in the killing of Ahmaud Arbery shows the young black man was repeatedly boxed in by two pickup trucks as he desperately tried to escape.

The lead Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent in the case testified that the white driver of the first pickup, Travis McMichael, finally got out and shot Arbery in the chest, the first of three shots with a pump-action shotgun that sent Arbery staggering and falling onto the road, mortally wounded.

Agent Richard Dial said the driver of the second pickup truck, William “Roddie” Bryan, said he heard the gunman say a racist epithet as he stood over Arbery's body before police arrived.

Special prosecutor Jesse Evans said Arbery “was chased, hunted down and ultimately executed.”

The evidence was presented to support murder charges against McMichael and his father as well as Bryan. It challenges the claims of self-defense that have been raised by the gunman and his father, Greg McMichael. It also could factor into a federal investigation into whether hate crime charges are warranted.

It seems pretty clear that it was a hate crime.
Glad it is being looked in to further.

Ya think?

Thanks Captain Obvious.

Sorry . . . that was harsh.

I guess the only way we'll really know is if he shit his pants . . . or not.

I guess pissing himself would count as being scared, too . . . but not like a full-blown bowel evacuation, while he was still standing.

Please note, I didn't use the words poo or poop.

Poop Scared doesn't convey the same imagery as Shit Scared.

I can't imagine you referring to anything as poo, as if saying shit was beneath you.
