Do you have cupboards that are like tetris to get to anything?

My moms cabinets are ALL LIKE TETRIS. In order to do any baking I need something but I need to move 5 items to get to it.
I need a baking dish? Oh that is under the blah blah bowls and the blah blah storage container above it. I need a mixing bowl? That is under the pretty olive/pickle dishes stored on the top shelf so I need a step ladder to get to it. (ladder/stool)

My pots & pans are like that and they all come crashing out of the cabinet about once a week.

I remember house sitting in a place that had the drawers that pulled out, it made things so much easier. My pots and pans are stacked and my storage containers are stacked in a drawer, but I swear-EVERYTHING requires moving something at my moms.

Yeah, same here. That's probably partly why I don't cook too often. And when I do cook, I use the slow cooker. Like the pork tenderloin I slow cooked last night.

That sounds nice, Clangy, did you put anything else in the crock, like potatoes or carrots? I know someone who always cooks her pork loin with sauerkruat.

Now I'm thinking about encouraging Ramsey to knock out her evil Jewish SIL with a 20 lb. pork loin.   113

I put some turkey gravy(from a jar) in the crock with it. Then microwaved some canned baked beans(added honey Chipotle BBQ sauce), canned seasoned collard greens, canned sweet potatoes(added cream cheese and smoked maple seasoning).

Mine too until yesterday. I saw a cockaroach, freaked out and cleaned and organized all of my cabinets and pantry. I don't know where that fucker came from.

I've heard that they can hitchhike into your home on something like a jacket or handbag, things of that nature. I don't know if it's true or someone was just fuckin' with me.

That's true. My nasty ass father in law spent the night at our house once and infested my whole house with roaches. Then he went to my brother in law's house and his wife called me and said that they've been seeing roaches everywhere since apu left. I don't think that's a coincidence. How many was he carrying on him, Jesus Christ.

Helped my mom organize the pantry today, threw out a bunch of stuff and saw a bunch of retro kitchen gadgets, it was fun. My goal was to stop the tetris, having to grab 10 items to get to one, and it is much better now, not perfect, but better.

She has some old flour and sugar containers that she doesn't use any more. I might take them if I go to live in the mountains-I don't want any critters getting into my food.
